Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Run your azz off in July Ghoulies!!! Just got back from the 10k. Legs felt okay, but I definitely fell apart the last couple of miles. Still managed to finish around 42 minutes so I'm happy. Got a coffee mug for being in the top 100 and the post race pasta was excellent Time for a little sleep before the early morning wake up call for tomorrow's tri! |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Run your azz off in July Ghoulies!!! Hey Ghoulies! I had a surprisingly good race this morning. It was rainy and transition and the run course was a muddy mess, but that didn't slow me down too much. Finished in 1:03:29 which was good enough for 8th overall and 1st in my age group (well, second but the guy who beat me placed in the overall so I'm counting this as an age group win). Tour and nap time! Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! |

Haha. I was yelling at the television! exciting! Now onto HOLLAND!! Go orange GO!!! So pumped. I think I will go run (and not fall down like the last time I was super excited about the Tour)...Going to attempt to stretch it out a bit, I'm feeling a bit tight...it might be a hot tub day later too. |

Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: Run your azz off in July Ghoulies!!! Hi Ghouls. Lots of reading to catch up on, but will have to put that on tomorrow's to do list. Finally back home from the Cape and have several bags of wet, dirty laundry to deal with. Nantucket Tri done, although nothing to brag about other than finishing. This is the first race I've ever done with a noon start (to allow for ferry travel to the island that morning.) I am a confirmed wimp as I have decided that a s/b/r of any distance in 88° and almost 100% humidity is close to inhumane and have taken Kona off my bucket list. For our wannabe race organizers, an out and back bike coarse on narrow, two lane roads which are open to traffic, is a recipe for crashes no matter how many nice cops you put out there. I had to unclip twice and brake going up hill to avoid collisions on several occasions. That said, there were lots of cool things about the race. First of all, Nantucket is just a beautiful place to spend a day - or two. Senators Kerry and Brown were at the race(Brown placed in his AG, Kerry was spectating) and Jenny Thompson (as in hall of fame swimmer) competed. Locals were terrific and had hoses out in full force to help cool us off during the run. Several non official water/lemonade stands were also available throughout the course, which was fun. This race was part of a girl's long weekend for me, so no complaints. The post race activities were light(aka nil) so we went back down to the beach and cooled off in the ocean. Showered, changed and had a late lunch/early dinner plus a few recovery beers in town before taking the ferry back to the Cape. Life is good. Hope everyone else had a nice weekend! ----- |

Champion 6656 | Subject: RE: Run your azz off in July Ghoulies!!! Ok...well I'm packing it in...at 7:50. Go me! Between swim/bike/run today and the excessive excitment and yelling at the TV I did today (yes, they actually can hear me...) I've worn myself out. Great job this weekend to Neal (I'm giving you two thumbs up, because I'm cool like that) and Kim (way to beat the heat--I don't know if this is supposed to be punny right now or not) and anyone else who raced that I am missing. Now that we all know who won today's stage in the Tour--I'm so excited!!! I hope my jersey arrives from Denmark before the Tour ends!! *crossed fingers...How awesome would it be to wear it for the last few stages?? WICKED AWESOME!! That's how awesome. I apologise in advance for my excessive Tour excitment and use of the words "fantastic", "awesome", "wicked", "ridiculous", "GO ANDY GO", "I love Andy"...also for my excessive use of exclaimation marks !!!! So with that said: I'm so excited for the upcoming fantastically, wicked awesome stages to come in the Tour!! Its going to be ridiculous!! GO ANDY GO!!!! I love Andy!!! (My brother and I are currently having a Tour war...I'm winning... ) Random... (Before you say it Neal...My response is Pftttt! x infinity x ∞ + infinity + &infin |
