kcarroll - 2010-10-07 6:53 PM Melindy, I will be watching the Big K with you on-line Sunday. One of the guys in my masters swim group (from which I have been conspicuously absent the last month) qualified at IMKY. He did IMLP last year and IMCDA earlier this year and qualified in Ky.  Way Kool!

Cool! The Big K is actually on Sat. My bad.

Well, CARP! Thank-goodness you caught it. I would have been sooo pi$$ed to log in on Sunday and have missed it. The time difference works in my favor. I can run for freaking all morning, take an ice-bath and sit back with my computer on the patio in my magic pants for the afternoon. Maybe a quick cupcake run somewhere along the way.

This may be sick, but I don't really mind them. Any more than a bath, period. The first few minutes are brutal, but once you are numb from the waist down...whatever.

I'll be taking one on Saturday. Tub is big enough for two. That said, not really conducive for anything other than numbness for me and shrinkage for you. Why bother.

I'll go back and catch up in a few minutes but I just have to post that people really scare, irritate, and frustrate me.

Some woman in the parking lot of PetSmart this evening offered to trade me her very badly behaving Great Dane Husky mix for my Milo. Um.... I don't think so.

IronNeal, in lieu of numbness and shrinkage I would recommend you head north and see if you can massage whatever is bothering Melindy's leg.

Not that you are not welcome anytime. Just thinking what might be in your best interests.

WHAT! Did she want to trade a kid as well? Some people should NOT have pets and be removed from the gene pool.

I spent several minutes talking with her and it was a clear case of the dog isn't the problem it's the owner. I'd bet money that given a little bit of time and training she wouldn't have a bad dog anymore.

First she asked if I wanted another dog, she was going to give me her dog so she could get a Great Dane. When I said my husband would kill me if I brought another dog home she offered to trade. I politely excused myself because I had to get back to puppy class. I wouldn't trade any of my dogs to anyone ever! Not even my misbehaving lab.

I have a good Great Dane, but he's only good because I work with him.

I find it easier to take them in the winter when I'm already cold. Lately I'll take a cold bath, but no ice. A cold bath, a warm shower, magic pants, a little food, a nap, more food has been my routine and I seen to recover quickly from my long runs doing this.

kcarroll - 2010-10-07 8:33 PM My interviews went really well. I think I will know in a few weeks if this is going to work out. The only downside is the commute. It is 1 hour 15 mins each way. On the upside, hours are flexible so I don't have to be there early. And, it is in oncology. Tough field to break into.

Glad to hear the interviews went well, Kim.

I have a small space heater that I use to crank up the temperature in the bathroom. I also wear a cut-off hoodie to keep the upper body warm. I get in the tub, turn on the cold water, and when it covers my legs pour in two bags of ice. I make myself stay in until the ice melts. Then it's straight to the warm shower and into the magic pants. I've never been sore the next day. Tired, but not sore.

Bah to campbell's tomato soup...it has wheat flour in it...bah bah bah...

Luckily I just happened to have some Blue Label roasted red pepper and tomato soup in the pantry...so I had some of that and 2 rice cakes with cheese.

My Dad decided to experiment today...not good. and it was pork (vomit vomit vomit vomit)...I can only handle pork at certain times...this was not one of them! So back up plan soup dinner for me!
