Pretty quiet on the Forum for the last couple of days.  Wilson must be busy doing something else.  It really seems from reading everyone's logs that folks are having a rough spring.  Hopefully everything will get sorted out and we can all get back on track.  Please be careful out there and stay healthy!!

Hey all... if you haven't checked on Alex's logs (wrkinprogress), she had a bad bike crash... she actually got hit by a motorcycle!  Luckily she's only banged up, but she was going to the doc just to be sure and the bike was going to the LBS doc to have a check up too.   That is our 3rd, no 4th bike crash this spring??!@!!!!  Joe is healing well, and if you want a lesson in HTFU, the guy is out there walking 12 miles at a time with a broken collarbone!!!!  He has actually gotten the all clear to run again... Truly inspirational, so glad he is an MMMer!  Wilson crashed not too long ago, as did Tammy Turtle and now Alex... PLEASE be careful out there!!!  June is coming up pretty darned quickly and if I'm gonna smoke some of you in Indy, I want to smoke you while you're healthy!!  HA HA!!!!

Also, if you are going out of town or something, please post something in your blog!  I check on y'all EVERY day and if you've been sick and haven't logged in a few days, I really do worry about you... BT is our only life line, I really don't know how to get in touch with all of you otherwise... wait, maybe I do, I have your addresses!!  So if you, like, are puking sick, like, and then go to the beach and party with your girlfriends for a few days, um, like, um, that would be good to know!  Plus, then you won't get nagging inspires from me... win WIN!

I don't have word on the T-shirts yet.... I sent in final approval on the art work, and they are supposedly guaranteed delivery by May 9th... if all goes to plan, I should have them mailed out to you and in your mailboxes by Friday the 13th, how fitting!

Uh oh...sounds like I'm in trouble  SORRY! Life just gets in the way sometimes, ya know. I was sick and not feeling like being on the computer pretty much right up to the night before we left for the beach - then I was running around packing - then we all declared the beach trip a "screen free" trip so I didn't have computer access...I know, I suck!

Anyway...I'm back to work, back to the gym, and back to the "diet" after the pig out in weeks since the competition (ROLL EYES HERE!) It's the same 'ol, same 'ol!

SO sorry to hear the news about Alix. Yikes on all the bike crashes here - this does not build my confidence for getting "out there"

Hi everyone! Like it or not, I'm still alive and kicking (even if moving rather slowly)-- thanks to you all for the lovely support and inspires. I'm seeing the ortho doc on Friday, so will know more then, but in the meantime I'm feeling a bit more mobile each day, which is good. Still rather shaken over the whole thing-- flashbacks are rough, as is the second-guessing-- but I'll survive. Will take the bike in to the LBS as soon as I can get 'er down the stairs-- maybe even today. So we'll see-- the important thing is that everyone's alive and relatively well as far as I know, and I'll take it!

Even if I can't race on Indy weekend, I'll try to make it down to cheer you all on-- so, Wilson, is that futon claimed yet? *grins*

Stay well and safe, and enjoy your days, everyone! *hugs everyone because you're awesome*

Hey Wilson...Hope I didn't hurt your feelings too much!  I will be coming to Indy with my sister for the Tri and although I'm sure the slumber party at your house would be fun we plan on getting a hotel room.  Can you direct me to one?  Also if anyone else is planning on staying in a hotel it would be nice to be staying at the same place.  So let me know.

I just loaded the most recent pictures from my camera to my computer.  I realized that I had this picture taken at the 5k race I ran in early April.  This is me standing with the Mascot from Keene State College.  That is also Hilde's Alma Mater.

Sorry I can't figure out how to get the picture here... I'll have to work on it later when I have time.

Hilde, nobody said I could have the princess bed, it seems like it was reserved in your name!  I think Wilson said I could have the torture chamber but my sister was to scared to consider. (She is a whimp, you know)

Thanks Hilde.

So I just came in here because I was thinking how I haven't gotten email notifications from this forum in a while. Apparently it stopped sending me them for some reason.

So how is everybody???!!!!

I haven't ran in about two weeks. I read that to get rid of the ITB pain that I've been having rest is the best thing. I also haven't been doing anything else this past week. Embarassed The timing of my injury is sort of ideal though, since finals are upon me. So, it's a good excuse to devote my time to studying. I definitely need to get back to at least swimming and cross training.

I am also taking three summer classes, so my Indy hopes are dashed. I have no time to leave for the weekend. I keep telling myself to sacrifice now for the greater good.

Anyway. I hope all you moms have a great mothers day. You deserve to rest and be pampered!

Hi everybody. I had my visit with the PT today for a gait analysis. She thinks the hip pain falls under overuse and shouldnt be too big a problem. It turns out my gait is pretty wonky, relating to my "special needs" feet. I wear orthotics for overpronation, but I'm still doing some weird compensation, which puts uneven stresses on everything from the waist down. She sent me home with homework to increase hip flexibility and range of motion, and do some core strengthening.

She said to play it by ear on how much to run, so I'm thinking of going ahead with Saturday's triathlon. At least I'll get a good open-water swim in (REALLY hard to do here, since we have only 1 lake and it isn't open for general use). I'm willing to DNF the run if I have to. If the hip doesn't get me, the heat will; it's 88 degrees as I write this at 10:30 pm; it will probably be mid-80's during the run, about 20 degrees above my happy place. So, I'm not expecting to do well, but I need a motivation boost, and racing usually gives me a lift.

Hope you all have a happy and SAFE weekend! No more crashes, please!!

Oh damn Jordie... I'm sorry you're not gonna make Indy!  But I understand....

Tammy, glad you got some answers on the hip pain.  Always seems weird that we can go for months without an injury and then one off run can put us out of commission for weeks!  I'm glad you're going to do your tri... you can always walk the run if you have to.

Best of luck to all our racers and event participants this weekend!!  Stay safe!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OUR MOMS!

Jordie, good luck on your finals! I'm seeing the ortho doc later today-- will report when I return on what the news is.

Happy Mother's Day to all MMM moms!

Happy Mother's Day all mommies!!

Sorry to hear about all the bumps and bruises several of you have experienced lately! Makes me super, extra vigilant when I am out and about on the bike. Especially when I am towing the wee one in the trailer!!

Tried my very first wet suit on this morning!! Definitely going to get some lube to put on prior to for the day of the Tri and most glad I followed the direction of XTerra and ordered the next size up. With my mongo legs and mama hips there's no way the smaller size would've fit! For $99 I couldn't pass it up

We did some sprints in the pool last night w/the Coach and going to attempt some OWS w/the wet suit next week to prepare myself for all and OWS this time of year entails....

My hot new tires are SUPPOSED to be here today......will post pics if they get here in time!!

Have a great weekend everyone.......heal, heal, heal...........oh and train, train and TRAIN for those of you who are NOT hurt physically!!

Yep, I can do that - no problem...do you want a no amenities type hotel or more of a full service hotel ( a little nicer)...Once I know that I have a few I will suggest...I'll also will try and get prices - Indy hotels are really reasonable...probably under 100 for a nice place.

You are always welcome at my pad, but I heard that Hilde snores really really loud....and Tammy talks in her sleeps.....So, you make the call..haha...

Jordan....big time booooo booooo you won't be in Indy.....but skool might be more important...maybe...some.  You can always rethink it and join us anytime at the last minute...I believe you can even sign-up on race day too...(I think)

Hilde, awesome on the shirts...can't wait to get it and model it for all my friends....to be jealous friends...haha

Tammy, come'on you know if you're gunna mention lube in a post like that - I have to jump all over it!! lmao  You need to lube up prior to the day....damn...that's serious planning....haha  Careful that day - you will be real slippery....are u gunna use Pam, crisco, canola oil, just plain butter or some soothing heat KY Jelly.....Sorry, LMAO.....This comment is so so ripe for abuse..haha...I'll stop now before I break the NC-17 rule.....Hilde is the only one that can do that! OK, so I want to get a Tri bike - but have a few goals to achieve before I do it...and the wifey will kill me for spending 3k on a bike...I'll have to do something extra special...earn lots of points..whatever to convince her it's a good idea.  Maybe during indy you guys can help me out.....make fun of me for having the $hittiest bike of the bunch..haha  I'll definitely feel inferior!

Ok, back to my train of thought...So a buddy of mine and I took a friend to the LBS.  He wants to ride with us and compete in duathlons..so cool deal.  While we were there my buddy Brad said I should take a ride on a tri bike since our buddy was test driving roadies...I refused....don't want to even know what it's like to ride one....He kept after me...I finally said what the hell...My thought was that it will be really uncomfortable and I'd have to take lots of time to get comfortable....so I wouldn't want a tri bike now anyhow... So I got on one and took a ride....OMG...I thought I was too fat, it would be uncomfortable...but OMG....I loved the aero position...it was really nice!!!!  I got off the thing....waited a few more minutes and took it for another spin.....I can't believe how nice that thing felt...being on the aero bars was no issue at all....WOW...so damnit...now I really want one....major roadblock is the wifey....I'm afraid to even mention it!  I'm also mad at my buddy Brad....now he is trying to get me to goto our Tri shop here where we can ride all kinds of Tri bikes....haha...bastard!!  So now Brad says if I buy one - he will buy one too...lmao...I almost want to buy one just to make him pony up too....and he just bought a $1800 carbon roady.....Maybe we could get a deal on two?????  Damn I want one.....boooo hoooo....no way the wifey will play!!!!  Time to get a new wife! lol

Back to being depressed!!!!
