Great work over the weekend guys! I won't individually reply to everything, but I did read it all! I love Rocky....Rocky IV is my fav as blasphemous as that is! Would be so cool to run those steps!

I signed up for IM France today. Planning out the trip now, planning on renting a condo along the race course. So just have to sign the contract and put a deposit down for that. My parents, brother and maybe grandfather might be coming for the trip!

Got a run and swim done today. Pretty tired. Hitting the sack early tonight!

That is so awesome!  I am totally jealous of your trip to France.  Not so sure on the IM part Laughing.  You will kick butt!

Well last night my 9 yr old son told me that now lacrosse was over, it is time to start training for his triathlon in 3 weeks. He did his first one last year. This year he is doing 2. This is the first time he is training for it though.  We ran and swam last night. It is times like this that make me incredibly happy the I got traded in the 300lb me for the 210lb me. Like the mastercard commercial: "priceless"

This is awesome!  Have a blast.  I think I was more nervous watching my husband's Xterra this weekend than I was for my own race the week before.

Great story Thor, Thanks for sharing.  I think our kids have potential to grow up and go further in their lives than us (parents) and it's up to us to point 'em towards that potential.  Way 2 go on being that positive influence in your kids' lives.  Good Job Dad.

Ugh.  Battling a cold this week.  I felt a little tickly in my throat Monday morning, which escalated into full on sinus congestion last night.  I took some cold meds since it was so bad I couldn't breathe while trying to sleep last night (usually I don't and just let myself suffer so that I'm not tempted to workout or overextend myself when I'm sick).

I took some more cold medicine this morning, so I'm feeling fine.  I'm glad this is coming during a cut-back week since I'm just going to want to rest and get over this cold all week!

I skipped my run last night since I couldn't breathe and my nose kept dripping.  The medicine cleared my sinuses and dried up my nose, so planning a swim tonight, and a post-swim steam.  Hopefully that'll help clear the sinuses so I don't need to keep medicated to breath Frown

got a 22 mile ride in today.  I decided to go for it.  I'm glad I did.  I rode an 18.1 mph pace.  This is the fastest I've ever held. When I started out this spring I was riding at a 14-15 mph pace, so I'm starting to see the fruits of the labor paying off.

What an awesome feeling! I know exactly how that feels! Just keep pushing. Maybe we need a contest on getting to 20mph. You are going to do so good in your race!

Well, between DD getting pink eye and a tree in our yard getting hit by lightning and melting the gas line I'm slacking. Luckily I'm on vacation next week and plan to spend a lot of quality time with my mountain bike. Oh and the dreaded running.

You can take some of our summer weather if you want.  Hit triple digits today.  I purposefully got up at 3:45 this morning to get in my 14 miler before work

Take care of that cold! I tried to train through one a few weeks ago and it didn't work out so hot.  Take advantage of that recovery week if you can

Yikes!  Well good luck with all that non-tri stuff going on!  Sometimes life just gets in the way and there's not much you can do Frown  But that's exciting about your vacation!  Always good to be able to train away in a different setting!

Thanks.  After another night of tossing and turning from my cough and congestion, I decided to stay home from work today.  I'm sure people at work would appreciate not getting coughed on and not having to hear me blow my nose every few minutes!

Got in a swim this morning.

4x300 easy rpe 3
1@6:15
2@6:10
3@6:30
4@5:55
This w/o called for 4x300 at rpe 3.  I was definitely at 4-5 except for #3.  I really worked on TI swimming, rotating the hips, reaching with every stroke, trying to maintain a forward arm the whole way, and balancing on the bouy "pressing", and staying relaxed.

I'm going to do this tomorrow during ows and it is my goal to stay relaxed in the water for 1.2 mile swim during HIM.  My goal is to finish swim in 40-45 min and have much energy for the bike.

I have a 4.5 mile run planned this afternoon before grad school.  hoping to get it in with my wife and my schedules.

Amen Brother!  Getting the kids exercising might be even more important than getting our own off the couch!  It's something I'm working on with my kids - haven't gotten a ton of buy-in.  Since forcing it would be a deal breaker - I'm hoping that continued exercise on my part and maybe some excitement over my OLY will spark an interest...

Studly!  That's great work Kevin - looks like your bike and swim are really coming together just in time for your HIM.  As they say in Boston - you're gonna be "wicked" fast!

"slacking" is the wrong word - you're a busy mom with a ton on your plate!  After a dose of antibiotics and a few days of R+R - you'll be back on track!  What do you have planned for your rides next week?

Now that I think about it - how do you "melt" a gas line without a big kaboom?
