How does everyone else have their coffee? I have one of those little stove-top percolators. Apparently they're not the best because the water is boiling when it passes through the coffee. Tastes fine to me, I'm no conneiseur, I'm not fussy!!! LOL. On weekends I'll buy expresso coffee. My favourite is a long macchiato made with skim milk. Mmmmm

PS - we don't have Starbucks in Perth. But I don't like coffee sweetened with syrups etc. Give it to me straigh!!! (with some skim milk LOL).

There's actually a place in the world with no Starbucks???

I know, amazing isn't it LOL! We have a lot of coffee joints, but no actual Starbucks

LazyMarathoner - 2008-11-13 11:53 AM Hey Phil! What up?

Just a lunch-by post cuz I miss ya's.

Did 2goggs leave, or is he still crashed out?

He's in NYC all week for work. I may meet up with him and a bunch of his friends later. Ironically he works about 2 blocks from me but with my retarded schedule, it's not like I actually get to see people.

Do you mind me asking what you do for a living?

Not at all. You'd think I was a brain surgeon with the hours I work, but I'm in public relations, primarily in the beauty industry. I'm a consultant now after working full time for 11 years so I tend to keep an odd schedule, but on the flip side, I have a lot of flexibility. Summer is slow in the business so I worked from home and trained pretty much full time June - August. You can't beat that!

Cool! Great to have a flexible schedule

I agree with kristin, its VERY hard to believe there is a place where starbucks is not.  I make decaf in my pot at home and half the time I put 1 tsp dark choc cocoa and 1/4 tsp peppermint extract in with the grounds (have to be carefull though cuz it takes longer for the water to seep through so this can make a huge mess in some pots.)  The other half the time I like to put a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg and a little bit of cloves in with the grounds.  Very Yummy, then I just a bit of splenda when its done.  This way it helps with my horrible sweet tooth.

Wow! They're both such great ideas! I'll have to try my coffee that way!

TOPPAGE!!!!

Yeah for Freaks!!!!!  Yeah for Co Co Wheats and Yeah for Frozen Whip Cream!!!!!!!!!

What are Co Co wheats? Are they a breakfast cereal like Coco Pops?

Kind of like chocolate cream of wheat.   Yes is a breakfast type thing (sept for me cuz I like breakfast all day long. )

Cream of wheat? Huh? Dairy mixed with carbohydrate? So does it have powdered cream in it or something??? Sorry, it just sounds really strange, but yummy! Sounds more like dessert than breakfast LOL!!!

LOL not quite.  I think its more like wheat ground very fine.  Kind of has the consistancy of a stiff pudding of custard.  Kind of like oat meal if you were to put it in the blender first and grind up the oats the make it.  And with co co wheats they add chocolate to it.  Regular cream of wheat does not have much flavor (like plain oat meal) have to add in toppings.   Hope that helps.  Maybe Kristin has a better way to describe it.

I think I understand now! Sounds dangerously yummy LOL!

Wraith28k - 2008-11-13 11:12 PM Hey Freaks! I hope everyone is doing well... the weather here has been crazy and I think it's starting to get to me. I haven't had as much energy as I'm used to. Really hope I'm not getting sick. I'm trying to keep up with my workouts, but it is rough when getting out of bed seems like a lot of effort. Stay safe out there everyone! Go Freaks!

Thanks for stopping by, but CHANGE THAT AVATAR!!!

X 2 !!!!

LazyMarathoner - 2008-11-14 8:35 AM Hey freaks, I did a little spreadsheet updating and will try to have a look at the end of the reporting period. We're looking pretty good but could use a little boost and there's still today and tomorrow! Great work everyone!

Today I swim.  Tomorrow, it's just over an hour of eval running and then Sun. starts my official first 20 week IM training program.

Oooh, exciting! Best of luck! Challenging times ahead

Hi Everyone -

Work was crazy yesterday and last night was supper out with friends so I haven't been around. I hope to be around more but it is just how it goes. Nothing new here. I am quite sore today from the abs and aerobics class I took on wednesday night. Yesterday I wasn't sore so I was pretty happy that I wouldn't and worked out last night (nothing major - just a 1 mile run, 30 min bike) but this morning my calves didn't want to move. They felt all tight and sore. The more I am walking today the better they are getting.

It is lightly snowing this morning and I have a few more days before I go home. I can't wait.

Wow, I wish we had snow

Hey Freaks

I'm sorta here, drifting in and out as I sit here in my PJs trying to finish my work so I can enjoy what's left of my Friday!

what's on tap?

Well, I was supposed to swim and had to work. Then I was going to run and had to work. So it looks like I'm going straight to getting drunk!

LOL!

i'm going to a movie

What are you seeing? I really should try to do more than hang out in bars

we're going to see the new bond flick

Mmmmmmmm ... Daniel Craig! I'm seeing it on Monday, three days before the rest of Ozztralia. I can't wait!

Tomorrow morning is my triathlon. I am really excited but also annoyed that they've predicted "fresh, gusty winds". Great, just what I need on the bike course, as if the hills weren't enough!

Hey Travis! Andy was sick all week, can we look at a reduction for him? He can confirm how many days he was out of commission.

We just need him to confirm how much he was out of commision for, and I will adjust the equation to make it fair.

I'll PM him and try to get the details so we can update by tomorrow.

Been out of commission the whole week, compounded by smoke in the air.  Bronchial spasms are not my friend.  I tried to force a roller ride on Tuesday, should not have.  And then have done light walking for two days just to not get stir crazy.  I will not get a workout in today or tomorrow with the air quality   Trying to not be the deadweight one, I promise
