tlnewman30 - 2009-04-07 10:39 PM Hi guys.  Per Phils advise I have been resting for the last two days.  Still not at 100%, but I don't feel like I am going to die like I did sunday after the half mary.

Travis!

Glad you are feeling a bit better

i do hope that this doesn't mean the rest of us should follow Phil's advise on a regular basis though

Yes it does.  Tinky - start post padding.  Travis - start back up with an easy 2 - 3 mile jog in Zone 2 HR.  Lazy - start drinking a healthy serving of wine, in a styrofoam cup.  Aquagirl - get your azz back in the da pool.  The rest of the Leaguers - get your azzes in here and start chatting.

Hi Beth.

I think you better use good judgement when it comes to taking Phil's advise

But he has been known to come through for me a few times.

I wouldn't let ya down.

Good morning all!  It's cold and I'm cranky.  I have to admit that I'm not sure if it's the glitter, the positive attitudes or just the silliness but but you guys made me smile, so thank you.

Have a great day!

1stTimeTri - 2009-04-07 9:52 PM You did TERRIFIC!  After all the complaining moments, then at the end you state you're going to do the race again.  That's kinda funny how we all have those emotions and thoughts going.

Those weren't complaints, and I even specifically called that out because I don't want it perceived as such. I think you'd have to be super human to feel absolutely fresh and good throughout an HIM or any other really long endurance effort. I hurt like he!! during the mary, but was having the best day of my life. Similarly, battling the wind, dealing with nutrition issues and struggling with physical discomfort on the run are normal and in my opinion, important parts of the HIM experience, that I think are worth sharing. People who say it was nothing but wonderful aren't sharing the truth. And as far as the course challenges, again, I think it's important to share there were glitches. But would that stop me from doing it again? No, absolutely not. I registered last night so I'm in for next year.

Morning leaguers!

Hope everyone is off to a great day (or off to sleep if you are on another continent or hemisphere).

Not much going on here - just wanting to ride the bike and it is snowing.  Too bad my crappy weather challenge still wasn't on - I would be scoring big time points!

Me too.....effing snow is coming down....I WANT TO RIDE MY SEXY GIRL!!
Perhaps I will go for a swim........

I didn't steal anything.  I didn't ask to be congratulated.  DON'T BE BLAMING ME FOR THIS!!!!! (and Deeder, mind your beeswax)

I had a tough Mary, but Kristin deserves the RAWKIN' kudos for her HIM. <== That's weird when you really look at it.

Wait until IM Moo, m'dear.  Just wait.  The biggest factor will be the weather, then you just deal with it, somehow.

Alright bike techies!

I am building up a touring mt bike on the Salsa Fargo frameset.  Should I go with XTR componentry or just stick with XT level.  I want to go SRAM but they do not do a bar end shifter and are not compatable with Shimano.

What say all you?  Thanks.

I do not understand a word of this.......its like a foreign language........I just love to ride my bike.......preferably while eating candy.........
