Well I would post my bike pic but I don't know how to put pictures in here.... technology hates me!  How do you do it?

???

You write your post, then under the box you type in you will see 'attach a file after posting'...check that box and then click submit. Then another screen will come up to load your pic.

For anyone checking in on wednesday, let us know what the "freebies" are this year. Looks like the weather didnt want to disappoint and it will be around that 90 degree mark, some wind, and humid (if it rains wednesday/thursday). And our wetsuit dreams may be dashed.

Has anyone seen a list of speakers/events in the IM village for this year?

One positive...it seems that it's going to be over cast and partly cloudy.....while the heat is an issue, heat with the sun beating down is a differnt ballgame.

How are you guys all planning on meeting up during the athlete's dinner? I'm going with my wife and wouldn't mind meeting up.  I will explain to her how each of you made me feel undertrained by posting your monthly volumes.

Also, since everyone is sharing: my non-666 number is #2866.  I will be one of the only people with my name written in sharpie on my bib (it was too late to change it).  Make sure you guys look out for that on the bike when you are all passing me... but I'll see you during the run!

There are lots of trees on the ride and run and that helps with the sun and wind.

Well, it was done in the morning this time and only .3 degrees away. Let's accept that it will go over the 76.1 by Saturday. #reality

Rode the front half of the course on Sunday morning. It was MUCH warmer than it has been for most of the rides this year. I believe it was almost 70 degrees when we started. By the time we arrived back in Northshore Park the temperature was in the mid, to upper 80s. A couple of us went on a short run (<5 mile) along the running path on Panther Creek on the West side of Lake Woodlands that is part of the run course and it was even hot through that mostly shaded portion.

Also dipped body parts in the lake to gauge water temp since there is no swimming allowed at the park normally. It def felt like it would be uncomfortable with any wetsuit on. Water felt warm. I saw the temp is .3 degrees currently under the podium cut-off, and even with swimming being my weakness, I'm favoring against a wetsuit.

My advice, prepare for an oven Saturday. If you honestly thought you would get "lucky" with the weather - here's your reality check. You have about 3 days get your mind ready.

Trying to find the silver lining here.  I guess the "no rain" part is a positive.  And, we should have more of a breeze on the run.

Other than that, it is pretty much a suck sandwich.

I totally agreed with this. It was the first "warm" bike ride/run session we had in a while around here. It's gonna be a hot one folks!

If anybody was looking for a hotel closer than where they are, Drury Inn just opened up a (very) few rooms. 159/night.

I cancelled a room at the Marriott Waterway this morning.  Don't know if that gets released back to the public or not because it was one of the Ironman block rooms....but in case, I thought I'd post this, too.

It ended up being hot last year, I figured on it being hot this year.  Who wants to race in "perfect" conditions anyway?  Crazy weather makes for a more epic IM story.

Keep having a dream that I miss bike check in.

My first IM dream was the day after registration where I dreamt that I was late to packet pick up and they wouldn't let me get my packet (even though it was right on top).
