Hilde - I laughed outloud when you came clean with us regarding your lifestyle!  I sorta expected it all along! 

Alex - I completely agree with everyone that weighed in on your HIM question.  By all means get your $75.00 back and find some less extreme goals for this summer.  You will enjoy the event and the training so much more when you are healthy and can set a reasonable training plan.

Marsha - Take care of yourself and know that the MMM'ers will be here when you want to come back to the fold!

Thanks for all the helpful feedback, gang-- I'm in agreement with you all (and no bonus points for guessing I'm an overachiever... *grin*), so will email Steelhead today and get my $75 back. Just heard from the insurance folk who say they'll send me a cheque for my bike (minus my $500 deductible, natch), so that's good to know... I'd much rather enjoy my training and get fully back to strength and speed before trying something as tough as a HIM-- Tammy Turtle, you KNOW I'm gonna take you up on that offer to do Steelhead, though (in return, I'll make you homemade donuts!). You guys are awesome: MMMers ROCK!!

Thanks everyone, for the ((HUGS)) and the support! I won't be too much of a stranger but most likely just checking in to be sure you're not slacking and I don't lose track of what everyone is up to! I'm getting some runs in in the mornings - helps to keep my head clear(er!...there really is no CLEAR head these days!). Just so you're not worried about me, there is nothing bad happening - it's just over and has been for a long time. I am busy getting things in order, finding a house, and meeting with an attorney right now and will be telling him sometime the first full week of June. That's when the real turmoil will begin I'm sure but once the storm passes it should be better for all of us.

Off to try to erase those lovely mental images from my mind - thanks Hilde!

Dude... I've been swimming with one of these for about 6 months now, and it DOES rock!! That is, when I remember it, and remember to charge it... The downside is you get spoiled and when you don't have it, your workout seems so looooong! It's amazing how clear it is underwater. I started with a real cheap-o version that had earplugs; STAY AWAY from these- they suck!! As soon as you get water in your ears, they drown out and you can't hear the music. The SwiMP3 is SO much better. And you can still hear what's going on around you, since your ears are open. Hilde wants to know if they stay on for rocket-fast swimmers who do flip turns and fancy stuff like that; I wouldn't know, but I think they would.

I did sprint with them on - and pushed hard off the wall really streamlined....They don't have much drag and use your google straps to stay in place - I think they would be just fine for you Hilde, flip turns and all.  It is nice having music - weird, but nice.

Pushed off the wall all steamlined, huh?  I bet it is those new jammers that made you that way! 

I saw someone at the pool using those things! Wow that would make my swim workouts soooo much more enjoyable!! Especially since I, unlike Hilde the fish, am unable to reach a Zenlike state during my swims! LOL

On another note...anyone interested in purchasing a very gently used I-Pad - the original - w/all the accessories PLUS a leather portfolio, keyboard- charger-stand and a shiny silver back case to boot.....paid $750 new 6 months ago for the lot and willing to let it go for $500 plus shipping....broke student/athlete/mom in need of some cash for the summer...

I'm looking good in my jammers Shawn....I've already gotten two requests for personal instruction from two hot girls at the pool...man these things are awesome!!!  I totally recommend swimming where most the people really suck...makes an average swimmer look marvelous!! haha  I'm faster in the pool and people think I know what I'm doing!!! haha  Trying to figure what to charge them..haha....I'm into the bartering thing!!! Any suggestions..haha LMAO! 

Sorry, but my MacBook Pro is all I need at the moment!!!  That sounds like a pretty good deal tho - hopefully you'll get a taker.  There is always Craigslist too...that's free and usually pretty good.  We've sold and bought lots of stuff on there...I bought my bike on there!  Understand the need for summer cash...we were talking about taking a family vacation this summer...The kids have never been on a plane so it sounds like it will be a plane ride somewhere for vacation...We'll see what the kiddos think about where we might go....I vote for Jamaica, Aruba or Puerto Vallarta....but kids on that kind of trip....NOT!!!!!

Why is it that I can see you taking your kids to Hedonism or some other place and not think anything of it???

Maybe you should barter swim lessons for them agreeing to not press charges when you stare at them like a lecherous old man in the pool?
