Thanks guys, its not an injury just legs felt tight slightly sore. I'm thinking tomorrow Friday I will do a little swimming around the same time as I will race day (8am) just to get the body used to it. Thanks for the advice

I'd be into the swim and slow jog, along with lots of stretching and perhaps self massage/foam rolling. I did something similar to my hamstrings some time ago by too much enthusiastic fast work too soon. Mine were painful to the point of feeling it whenever I moved, and took a while to settle down. Embarassed My own silly fault.

Great Job and Congrats to you. Next thing you know, you'll be make a PB&J sandwich while your riding down the road

Issac, I did not get to reply in time, but I was going to say that you were probably just sore. Tip: Don't push to hard or do anything out of the ordinary a few days before your races, which I'm sure you just learned.

Have a great race, stay within yourself, and remember to enjoy the day We look forward to the pics and race report.

Alright, just giving everyone a heads up that this will be my last post until Sunday night. I am going to be at the deer lease again this weekend doing work and will not have internet access. I look forward to catching up on Sunday when I return.

Looks like you overcame the issues of the swim and bike to a strong finish. I think you handled things well and I'm glad you enjoyed your race experience.

Thank You Beth,

All things considered and based on my training the times are pretty much what I usually do, but I sure wish I could have felt better cause
I know I could have shaved at least another 2 minutes off that time. Feel wonderful to finnish one, I sure will be doing many more but maybe
a Half Ironman is bitting more than I can chew, for now.

Great report, and congrats on finishing so strongly. Sounds like you had a lot of fun despite the gastric issues, and i'm guessing you'll be back for many more tri's!

Great Job Issac and impressive bike and run splits. You're talking about wanting 7:30's and I'd kill for the times you ran.

Thank you, I was very happy too because I thought before the race that anything under 10 minutes would have been great. 7:30 or so seams like a goal going foward but 8 minute mile is good enough I have to admit. Swimming needs alot of work though.

Hi Isaac well done on the PB for the run! And well done for keeping going on the bike when you felt so sick. Can I ask do you use ear plugs when you swim? I know you think the nausea was caused by swallowing water and you are probably right, but I suffered nausea open water swimming until I started to use ear plugs, just a thought...

LOL ! Funny you should ask, I used my speedo ear plugs every single swim I did in the pool heading into the TRI and even though I took them
on race day I used the swimming cap they provided that was pretty big and covered my ears and sure enough I decided to no use my ear plugs. Mind you I only use them because in the pool the water going in my ears make swimming impossible. OMG could it have been that ? Cause I gotta tell you the nausea was so bad that I could not even lace my sneakers properly. Im so glad you brought that up.

Its such a bitter sweet feeling for me for the TRI to have come and gone because now I really want to do another and there are none around my area other than the brooklyn TRI in november at coney Island and Im would not caught dead in the water in NYC in late November. There is one in Huntington Long Island in late September that is looking mighty tempting, but boy the swim is 800 meters double my usual swims, I would really have to step up my training.

I have to tell you this sport is absolutely beautiful, Every now and then today I would get flashbacks of certain moments like when the all the competitors listened to the national anthem and then we came out to the DJ playing eye of the tiger on the way out. My god as cheesy as it was the look in everybody's eyes was total pride and concentration. But the most incredible moment for me was when I was walking out with the music my wife and son were standing by and when I looked at my wife she was very emotional and her eyes were all teary, I guess it all came full circle for her.... Keep in mind she's now 12 weeks pregnant, Now married to a man who weighs 150 pounds less then the one she met over 12 years ago and all the dedication and time she was willing to give me so that I could train seamed to take an emotional toll on her in a beautifully sweet way. Her eyes told me that day the most beautiful I love you that was never spoken.

I have spoken here many times about my weight loss and what not so Im going to try and post a before and after for you guys.

The picture in the middle in the white shirt was at nintendo world for the release of the Nintendo 3DS XL and Super Mario Bros 2 for the DS and that was on July 28th 2012.

OMG Issac that is one hell of a transformation!!! That must have taken so much hard work and commitment you are an absolute inspiration! I am sure your wife is incredibly proud of you and rightly so.

With regard to the ear plugs, I think that could be what caused it. My first ever lake swim I felt so sick afterwards it was untrue. I began to think that the water was dirty and had made me sick, I felt so totally ill, I was holding on to the contents of my stomach by willpower alone. Then I read about it happening to others during open water swimming and that ear plugs could help. I have never felt sick after or during swimming since. They are so eazy to pop in it is worth using them just in case.

See Issac, that is why I said that your weight lose was more impressive than my Half. Truly Impressive and Inspiring.

Noreen, great point on the ear plugs, I did not even think of it until you posted it. Way to help out a fellow Turtle.

Issac, it is not a big deal but looking at the pictures, which were awesome by the way, why did you put on a shirt for the run portion instead of just continuing in the tri suit?

Just wanted to let everyone know that while I was looking over logs and sending Inspires, I came upon some wonderful news. I checked in on Mike's logs and saw that he has been back at it for over a week now. I was so happy to see this and made sure to remind him that he was more than welcome in the group, but that is his choice. I just wanted to make sure he knew it, and am estatic to see that he is back at it.

I used te shirt because the race belt I had purchased broke the night before and I figured I just pin the number and throw it on as I started the run, plus help the family with visability. It was a nice quick option, and I only did 40 seconds on that transition so I didn't regret it
