They said it should heal on its own rather fast and to keep moving it, but not to lift anything heavy.patchadams - 2009-06-24 2:12 PM so i think this is the ultimate....today i managed to dislocate and tear all the ligaments in my pinky today while cooling off in the pool after being on the stand for a while....fml. Oh no!!! Im so sorry to read about that... what did the doc say? That sounds promising! Are you able to train much? |

Master 1690 Metro NY Area | Subject: RE: Super Cats Mentor Group - CLOSED I'm up for the TdF Challenge! Cool! Great chance to wear my way cool new Alaska cycling jersey, broke it in tonight. Speaking of that, what types of cycling jersey does everybody wear/like? Besides my new Alaska Jersey that is blue and yellow with a bear, mountain and lupine flowers, I have a Black Star Wars Return of the Jedi Jersey and a Red Tootsie Pop Jersey because I must look like a big round ball on a stick when I ride. |

Expert 1067 Douglaston, NY | Subject: RE: Super Cats Mentor Group - CLOSED Welcome back Lisa! I have been avoiding cycling jerseys for fear of the "Stay Puff" look that they tend to induce. Patch - I'm sorry to hear about your injury! If anyone likes a good scare, please check out Dee's new tampon taser. |

(No, it's not me, my arms aren't that hairy) Wow - that sure is colorful (but in a pretty way). I'm not sure I'd consider myself man enough or a good enough biker to ever wear it. I'm sure it looks great on you though! |

Expert 1067 Douglaston, NY | Subject: RE: Super Cats Mentor Group - CLOSED Good morning all - basic question here that I've been struggling with for a little bit. How do you grab your water bottle while biking without swerving all over the place? Is there some secret or is it just repetition and confidence? Okay, I'm off to swerve all over the road for a bit. Have a great day all! |

How do you grab your water bottle while biking without swerving all over the place? Is there some secret or is it just repetition and confidence? Okay, I'm off to swerve all over the road for a bit. Have a great day all! Practice.... practice....practice... Start by riding along (find somewhere safe) and just reaching down with one hand and touching the top of the water bottle...repeat.. Teaches you how to locate it without looking down much... Then do the same thing sliding it out of te bottle cage (doesnt haveto bethefull way initially) Basically keep at it...
Also how snug is your cage/bottle fit... if its quite tight you might want to try a different bottle or cae to make it easier... shouldbe snug but not tight... |

Master 1690 Metro NY Area | Subject: RE: Super Cats Mentor Group - CLOSED I have a new polar insulated bottle that has a little handle on top, it makes it a bit easier to get in and out. Plus it keeps drinks a bit cooler than other bottles. Sulcus - 2009-06-27 9:57 AM Good morning all - basic question here that I've been struggling with for a little bit. Master 1690 Metro NY Area | Subject: RE: Super Cats Mentor Group - CLOSED I did a 5K race this morning as part of my triathlon training. It's been about 29 years since I did an event. It was fun and I finished a little faster than I thought (still slow and way slower than I used to run) but I'm happy to have done it. My knee was ok since I had a cortisone shot in it on Wednesday. In 3 weeks I have an OWS coming up and 5 weeks until my first tri. |

Speaking of which... have you found anymore to take on Dee? There's a 5K on on July 4th that I want to do. BUT my shin is really bothering me right now. So I'm going to see how this coming week goes. Especially since the race has LOTS of big hills. I did set an all-time record (for me) for running this month. The Run Challenge really helped keep me going. Also, I'm trying to change my running stride a little right now. I overstride and heel-strike really hard. I'm trying to change that, and I think it's helping my knees. (But apparently, not my shins.) |

Ok - so when you try to ce your biomechnics ro style you may find that other body parts protest if you are changing anything significantly. It can put pressure on other body parts that arent ebing used regularly so you do need to be careful... if you are having problems ICE and back off... |
