I don't understand that muffin/english muffin thing either. 

I learned Bristish Engish in school and a quite few times I caused confusions here in the U.S.  Once we were moving and I told a guy to put all the stuff in the lorry.  The girl Lori wondered why I wanted her to move everything. 

Another time I asked for a torch and co-workers thought I wanted to set fire in the office.

People here don't understand what a "secondary school" is.  I have to convert those forms 1 to 6 into grades 7 to 12.

See we are different from the Brits also.  Kindergartens 1-3 for age 3-5 (K-1 being more like play school).  P 1-6 for 5-11, then F1-5, O-level at F5, then F6-7 a.k.a. pre-U and A-level at F7. 

Yeah, we have vans.  OK.  I don't know whom I'm speaking for now.  British or American?  In fact, I am neither.

Having been born in NZ, OK start laughing now you Aussie Bastards, I was confused as a 9 year old when I started school and the teacher told me to put my "port" in the port rack.

A) I wasn't aware that you could bring fortified wine to class and
B) I wasn't aware I was attending a shipping school where I would need to dock before starting class.

Port I later found out was Aussie for school bag. DUH stupid me.

I was then told to meet on the "Oval" otherwise known around the world as a sporting field.
Still trying to work that out because the "oval" was actually a rectangle.
Aussies, we are so weird.
