13.1 miles right? hopefully by november i can be CLOSE to that anyway. right now if i was racing, i could PROBABLY run and entire 10K. i'd be tired and sore, but i think i could do it. especially if it was a flat course. by november, i think i could be half mary ready. you could too lynnie-i know it. you DID kick my arse in that race, you beat me by like half an hour!!! that's arse kicking in lyssa-land.

OMG lynne! i forgot to tell you!! dh's work schedule for august is mon-fri (usually he's fri-tues) so he's TOTALLY COMING TO DANSKIN WITH ME!!! i'm kind of freaking out!! i've never raced with him around before!!! it's sorta making me nervous!!

you're going to have to tell me everything about danskin too, since you've done it once. is it hilly? where's the swim? (all i know is that the race is in seattle, i'm not even 100% sure WHERE in seattle it IS)

like i told another friend today, pretend like i live in a cave, and never leave. (she said--"who's pretending?" LOL)

There are a bunch of half mary training plans out there that are about 16 weeks long that can help get you ready.  I like using the smart coach option on Runner's World web site.  Sounds like you have the base needed to start if you think you could get a 10k in.  Plus it is all about finishing, not how fast you did it in.

The only thing about the Danskin that's hilly is the swim.

Try the smart coach tool.  It will let you build a program that will let you increase as fast as you would like to go.  My wife is actually using it to train for a half.

I was there in April for a month. My sister in law had twins.  Pics in my album and blog if you're interested. They are awfully cute little boys. Hard to believe they are related to me.

I just read your location!

"Location: Probably falling over somewhere"

That's not good! Falling over is highly overrated!

Oh yeah! Much better. I just took some vicodin though as it's niggling a little. I think I've damaged some tendons or some nerves around the elbow area. Still trying to catch my boss in the am to have her check on it. I have no insurance and don't want to spend any more money on one if I don't have to.
