I am traveling for business both this week and next, but am lucky enough that my trip is to Bermuda, so I should easily be able to stay on track.  I got in my 5 mile bike ride last night.  Had to do it inside (but found a bike rental shop today).  Planning to get a swim and run in tonight, bike Wed. and Saturday and run Thur and Sunday.

kerilynn - 2009-04-25 12:32 PM II got a new Specialized road bike yesterday as an early B-day gift. I rode around the block with it but that is all so far. Keri

It sounds sweet....Have you named it yet?  Can you post some pics so I can drool??

I'm leaning toward Aliza for my new baby! I tried to upload photos but it says the file is too big and I don't know how to fix it ;( any advice on that is welcome

I've used www.resize2mail.com .  It will help you make the files smaller and if I can use it anyone can

How do I get a job like yours ?  Hope it's not all business and you'll have some time to enjoy.

I would love to bring you all with me!  Went for a 2 mile run this morning, and it was HARD.  The hills here in combination with the heat and humidity...wow!

Thank you so much, that web site worked but the image looks choppy so I will have to experiment with it and figure out what I am doing wrong... I hope everyone has a lovely day and gets their training in too,

TGIF! Except for the snow that fell here over night!

My parents are in for a visit this weekend, so mom and I will be in the yard (if the weather cooperates), digging over the garden and flowerbeds and planting carrots. I have a short intense run planned for tomorrow, and a longer ride for Sunday, so I'll have to get up early to fit all of that in.

Great Stef! it feels so awesome to be on track with the workouts and wow, you got snow last night Andrea? That is amazing!
I got to work in the garden today, we haven't planted any veggies yet but it was beautiful and I also got back in the pool and swam for almost an hour today. I have been truly avoiding my swim training, a bit of a block there I think, so that was good too, we are planning a bike ride tomorrow and more yard work and a BBQ this weekend. I hope everyone has a super one!

Hey there how is everybody. I continue to be working out regularly which should definitly help with my goal for a mini tri in Gravenhurst this summer. My bf has been very supportive and even went for a swim with me this week. after 50 m he gave in though lol and went to the hot tub. Today is my day off and a day if work which has been great to get stuff done down around here and feel very refreshed. Tomorrow we go shopping and i have a bike ride to get in and a swim. Hope all of you are doing well.Good luck with your training and any races you may have.

Great job on the race!
It's so exciting doing your first tri. Sounds like it was a tough run.

As for me, I may need soome inspiring. I was away on a trip across Canada Via a uhaul truck. I am exhausted still. I ate like crap and did very little training.
I've decided to pick up on my training schedule this week and go just like I didn't miss a week or so of training. Also I am back to the fruits and veggies and just trying to stay straight and narrow in that respect.
Now that the weather is better and the sun is up earlier I'm looking forward to a bunch of early training sessions.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Cheers!

Whooohoooo!! Sounds like we're doing well!!  Congrats Andi on your tri!!! Whooohooooo!!

Jeff - are you hitting the open water swim on Friday?  (I'm a chicken - I think it will still be too cold!!)

Nicki - way to stay on workouts!! It's great that your BF is supporting - even if it's cheering from the hot tub!! *smile*

So what's the plan for this week?

I am still away, but keeping on track with my training which I am so happy about.  I normally fall off my schedule when I am away.  Yesterday was an off day, today I will get out for my run after work.

The plan this week is stick to the work out and increase the lenght of the swim and the bike ride a little bit...Running well thats a skill im still working on. Oh and the other goal is to feel better and get my voice but those alot easier to accomplish. Those who are swimming outside kudos to you it snowed here this week and im not a polar bear but good stuff. Goodluck training everyone and in any races your in.

Yeah - I won't be out this week.  I have to finish a paper tonight (which I procrastinated about) so I moved my bike ride to Friday night.  I'm not swimming in Belle River anyway - I'm doing the du with my sister.  So I have until June (Leamington) to get in the water in the suit...

Thursdays are impossible - no way I'd get back in time for work - and I can't just show up late... *frown*  One of the things I miss about a "normal" job.... Being flexible with my hours - oh - and going to the bathroom when I want.... *shaking head*

Checking in! Hope everyone is having a super week. I am still going back and forth on the olympic distance tri on July 11th... Should I try? Should I wait? I printed off the registration form but it is still sitting by the printer LOL!
My husband bought himself a road bike on Saturday, I had such a blast on last weeks group ride around the lake, we saw deer and bison! It was a blast, I guess I rambled on a bit enthusiastically, so he is going with me tonight!
I hope everyone is staying well and enjoying warm weather!
hugs,
keri

Should you do the Olympic distance race? Depends...

You would have not quite 8 weeks to train. You appear to have a pretty good fitness base, but I'm not seeing a lot of tri-specific training: biking volume looks good, but swimming and running look a little neglected.

You need to ask yourself: in these next 8 weeks, how much time can you put into each of the sports? Can you safely increase the volume without causing injury? Will you be prepared for a 1500m open water swim? (I think your sprint tri was a pool swim, so open water will be different.)

And it's great that your hubby has caught some of your enthusiasm! I hope you two have fun riding tonight!
