It was a lovely day for a ride around these parts.  I think everything but my butt had recovered from Sunday's ride.

Hey guys!

Neal, we're looking in to a couple other options, but mostly it is wait and see - like six months wait and see. Ugh. Oh well, I'm just going to keep going and make it up as I go. Worked so far!

Congrats on the century and getting out again today!

Cheri, small world! There are actually quite a few Tech people on here, crazy.

Good morning Nads!  It's another soon-to-be fun-filled day here, starting off with a run and then work, work, work.  Why does everyone (at least at my work) feel that even though we are only working four days, we need to get five days of effort in?  I'd almost give up three day weekends if we could quit the frenetic pace for the rest of the week -- well ALMOST give them up.  I still like having that extra day occasionally...

Heh, one of the very few benefits of my office, we don't have to do this too much. Well, I dunno, we more than make up for it the week *before*, plus we almost never get our holidays actually off (and they only give us six to begin with). So, um, okay, not really a benefit. But I have had two three-day weeks in a row, and as long as I don't think about my upcoming paycheck, it has been nice!

I squeezed in some early morning workouts, which is a rarity for me.  I only did it because I will be hitting the road soon for my trip to Madison, where I will be spending the weekend volunteering for the race.  I can't wait to soak up the atmosphere and get a taste for the event before taking the plunge and signing up for next year *gulp*

I hope all of you Nads are having a good weekend.  We sure are a quiet group!  I managed to get a couple of runs in while I'm in Atlanta.  It's a lot different than home -- what we call "hills" are actually considered flat in Atlanta, so my runs have been a bit of a challenge.

I see that most of us aren't updating the spreadsheet.  Are we giving up already?  It's only the middle of the month...

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  I was supposed to do a sprint tri today but just went and cheered. I'm heading out of town for work tonight and am going to take my running stuff.  Knee is feeling pretty good, so will try a few short runs.  When I get back later in the week will revisit the plan to see if I can still make my goal.

What part of Atlanta did you run in?  I lived in Buckhead many years ago.  Great area.  When I am in Florida the only hills I've found are the overpasses!

Heh, hills. Not a problem where I live!

Speaking of, I got myself a coach! I'm super duper excited. I think it is really going to make a huge difference this winter. I'm also getting a treadmill if I ever rearrange my bedroom so it'll fit. unfortunately, though, I think I'm gonna have to bail on the challenge. I'm just not recovering the way I should, and I can NOT take the pounding of running right now. So, I'm just gonna work through what I can, and then really hit the big time again in October. But, I still want to be a Nad so I can scream GoooOOOOOO NADS! because I am that juvenile. So hopefully y'all will let me come crash your party?

Hee hee, funny story:

So I'm getting ready to start p90x, which requires a pull up bar. I was all worried, because I only have one door in my whole apartment, into the bathroom. And the way the doorframe is, It only has a sill on one side, which would mean I would have to take the door off the hinges. I could hang a curtain but, well, my landlord might not be too happy (she's in there a lot, we're friends), and I didn't want to do it, and excuses, excuses...

I get the pull up bar all put together and go to try it out. I'm just about to pull the door off the hinges when I realize that I DO have another door - my coat closet! *snerk* So, after some wriggling and wrangling, I figured out how to get it around the folding door. Sure enough, I'm going to be doing pullups INSIDE my closet. I'm a closet exerciser!!! LOL! For some reason, this is very, very funny to me.

So there you go - Slugger the closet exerciser. I might just have to post pics... :D

Morning everyone!  Miracle of miracles, my hotel has a gym (not the norm in EU). I actually was able to bike this morning with no knee pain.  So will try to run when I get back to the States on Thursday.  Hoping to get back in the game.

I'm back from Madison.  What a fun, incredible weekend.  The race was phenomenal and it felt really good to help out.  I even go to meet a few BTers.  Then I took the plunge and signed up for next year!

I did a little bit of everything.  I helped sort transition bags on Saturday.  Then I was a bike handler in T1, worked the transition aid station during the afternoon, and then I was a finish line catcher for about 6 hours that evening.

Working at the finish line was one of the coolest things I have ever done.
