Okay - so I upgraded to Bronze and built my plan for all to see. I still have many modifications to make with days off and known conflicts, but the crux of the plan is there for all to comment on if they choose.

Happy new year all - I did 4.5 today, really felt the champagne. Ugh. I am getting a full fitness eval tomorrow so I will post the year's starting point tomorrow.

Nice work Scott!

I did my 1/2 mile "test" run and am happy to report my ankle seems to have passed the test Walked home 1/2 mile then walked the dog 1 1/2 (with hubby). Easy day, but training for the year has begun!

Great work Scott and Lani!

I did a chest/upper back/biceps/abs resistance workout today.  Still feeling a little run down, so didn't go for a run, but definitely feeling better ... finally!

I finally joined those with great starts to 2010 by heading to the gym first thing this morning.  Though I had long breaks in between, I'm still trying to figure out how I did as well as I did after no having swum much at all over the past 3 months.  My bike ride was an easy spin on the exercise bike, just to get myself used to going for 45 minutes again.

Yesterday's food choices were pretty good up until my mother-in-law whipped out some cupcakes she bought and made a point of saying she got them for me.  One led to another but I did stop at two and recorded everything, which is a big step in the right direction.

Here's hoping everyone has a great second day of 2010!

Great work everyone.
Here is my week in review
Monday:Aerobics (45min)
Tuesday: 45 minute run-- First run since beginning asthma treatment-- WOW what a difference breathing well makes.  11 minute pace felt easy.
Wednesday: Kick Boxing (45 min)
Thursday: Aerobics (2 hours 15 minutes)-- extra long because we were filming
Friday: REST
Saturday: 25 minute bike (exercise bike on random climb), 15 minute run.  poor breathing day, so I had to take it slow.  20 stretching
Sunday: REST (I'm looking forward to it)

As you can tell I do a lot of Aerobics-- it is my base for fitness-- and my social hour.

BIG excitement was my Christmas present: clipless pedals and shoes for my bike.  Now I have to wait for snow/ice to get off the roads so I can really ride.

Great work Shawn and Erica!

Today I continued my run training for the first time since Thanksgiving.  Ran 3 minutes, walked 1 minute, then repeated for a total of 8 repetitions and 32 minutes.  Crossed the 5k mark in 31:40, for an approximate 10:13 mile.  Rather depressing since my best has been 26 minutes, but I'm glad to be back at it since I've been sick so long.

Tomorrow the weather here's supposed to be a relatively nice 56 degrees, so I plan to get fitted for a bike and bring it home for a test ride around the triathlon bike route near my house.

Great work everyone - lets all keep this enthusiasm throughout the year. I had my fitness assessment and boy was it just a marketing ploy to sell me HR Monitor and personal training at 800/month plus VO2Max testing at $140. My take away - keep doing what I am doing, but maybe mix it up a bit with endurance and intervals instead of just endurance.  Also maybe add some strength and stretching routines. Although these last two are hard to fit in with work, kids, and 3 sports for training.

Had a great spin class this morning with my wife, which was a real treat. Then had an afternoon run in 0 degree windchills. Only went 2.5 miles. boy was it cold. I can only hope that the weather on July 25th will be a scooch warmer.

Congrats on the frigid run!  I'm a big sissy when it comes to cold so I stayed indoors on the treadmill to do mine.

Definitely keep at it - it will come!

I've been very dilligent about finally tracking my food intake on weightwatchers.com.  It's been both empowering and frightening at the same time...yesterday was sort of a death by papercuts with my snacking while I was cleaning the apartment.

Did 3 on the treadmill today at 7:40 pace. Felt really strong despite my lousy sleep last night. Smelt something burning earlier in the evening but couldnt find where from, so didnt go to sleep until 1:00 AM when I was confident we werent going to burn down.

Ran today, which felt great.
It's been really hard lately for me to even wake up and get out of bed. I love my sleep, and have been feeling like I need more. So needless to say, getting up at 6:45am to go to the gym has been ROUGH. It's so hard for me to find the motivation to go run when all my body wants to do is be a blob in bed!

Hey guys.  Well, back at it after my little vacation.

I gave a lot of thought to my training plan and decided to switch since I didn't feel like it was challenging enough.  Instead of doing Michael Pate's 22 Week Total Sprint,  I'm doing the Run Focused 20 Week Sprint Plan.  I know running will be/is my biggest challenge and it feels like this one pushes harder to prepare me than the other.

I think the Pate plan is for the totally out of shape and I was surprised to discover that even though I'm overweight, I'm not totally out of shape! Smile

Jenny Craig is going well.  I lost 4.4 lbs last week for a total of 21 lbs since Nov. 5th.  Since upping my activity I've noticed I'm a lot hungrier so if I lose more than 2 lbs this week I'm increasing my calories to 1500 a day from 1200.

Also, I'm officially registered for the Iron Girl in August and my triathlon team meets for the first time Jan. 23rd.  I'm excited to meet other women in my area that are training for a tri.

Great job Susan on the weight loss. Good idea to always re-assess your training plan and goals  to see how they fit and if they still fit into your needs.

Great job everybody!  It's been a busy 2 days.

I swam 700 yards tonight which included  250 free, 75 back stroke, 75 breast stroke, 2 x 50 sprint in 35 seconds, 50 catch up drill, 150 kicking.

50 free sprint times are a little bit of a let down because my best time before Thanksgiving was 32 seconds.  (Of course, I was around 26 seconds in high school!)  However, I was tired today and it's my first day back since before Thanksgiving.  I'll be back to a full mile and 32 second 50s in no time!

Keep up the amazing work!
