Subject: RE: Oilman (Ironstar) 2012 - Who's in?jonnojohnson - 2012-05-31 11:31 AM Since I have no experience with arm warmers, would they be ok to wear uncovered during the swim (I have sleeveless wetsuit)? I did the race in 2010 when it was cold. It was right around freezing when the race started, but the water was nice. You could have not worn a suit and been ok, but just waiting for the wave to start would be the trick. The first part of the bike going through the forest was the worst part of the race for me. The race takes place the day after time change so the sun was not up very much and the tree coverage in the national forest makes for a cold (cool) ride. If you are a transition time weenie, then you can put your arm warmers on, then roll them down and pull them off. If you want add some baby powder to the inside of them so they come on easy when your wet. It is easy to put them on this way and you can pull them up when you get to the first strsight away on your bike. I am thinking of doing the relay with my wife. She wants to run and I need to work on my bike and swim over the summer. I think this is the only way to put on the miles/yardarge without taking lots of time away from the family. |
