Subject: RE: The Monster Mash Team IntroAlrighty Monsters....c'mon and get out there and get those miles in. I just got my registration card for the NYC Marathon!! It's my third NYC, but I'm getting all psyched up for it anyway. I'm on the blue route, which puts me on the upper level (more scenic! ) of the Verrazano Bridge (that's at the start - one mile up, one mile down! ) I'm doing my last long run this weekend.
So, who else is with me in putting in just a bit more than you usually do this weekend? You know, that time when you're feeling it can go either way - either stay in bed for a few more minutes, or get up and run. Or you come to a Y in the road and one way is longer than the other? So, this weekend - choose that longer path.
For you 80's rejects (of which I'm one ), if you remember a band called The Hooters, they're coming out with a new album. I just heard a new song on the radio - "I'm Alive." All about being optimistic about life and appreciative of the little things. When you run this weekend - you are not allowed to think anything negative. Everything positive. Don't focus on what you're not doing, focus on all the things that you've already accomplished - all those miles that you've put in already and what an opportunity it is to be able to face more!
ok - end of my lecture! Now go run! |
