I think my avatar next month will be a Peep, too. My avatar better not be a Patriots something! I have a friend who loves Peeps so much I bought her the Peeps Singalong CD as well as a Peeps Maker for her birthday. She thought they were some of the best gifts she ever got . A Peeps Maker? I've never heard of such a thing! Maybe we could get one and ship it to Cat so she could get rich off Peeps in Oz! |

Oh, now that the weather's getting nicer, it's time to start working my dog into my runs (she's got weight to lose too). Have you ever found a light but strong leash that you could recommend? I ran with her chain leash the other day (and her too), and that thing is heavy!!! What kind of doggie? How heavy? There are some good threads on running with doggies--definitely get the vet's okay first, and ease 'er in. 1/2 in. leather leash. 1/4 in. is fine for small-medium OR extremely well-trained bigger dogs, if you're going for lightness. Yeee...ah..... we're talking about 103 lbs of Akita/Lab mix. Once was obedient, that was about 50 lbs ago. She actually did okaythe other day and didn't really pull unless we were near a fenceline with a firendly dog on the other side. Checked with the vet when I brought her in at the end of Jan. I'm thinkin' that I'm going to start her off with short runs or my cool downs and definitely get her started on chondrointin and glucosamine (though I'm not a full believer in it myself). If you "run" across any of those sites could you send 'em my way? Thanks! |

If you "run" across any of those sites could you send 'em my way? Thanks! Actually, according to my vet: glucosamine/chondroitin appears to be effective in about 80% of dogs... (My vet and I discussed this one day. I was a doubter. He gave me that statistic. I figured I'd try it. And it DID seem to help my dog quite a bit.) |
