D001 - 2009-07-10 9:36 AM Hey Cat, have you checked the BT user listings lately?

Am I not #1 anymore?

Sacre bleu - how can this be?

Well... I havent checked but Icouldnt work out what else Dee might be onabout...

I looked and your theory isn't true, so I'm just going to work under the assumption that Dee doesn't really need a reason to go on about something...

Well gee. Obviously, you've been the #1 poster for awhile now. I thought it was a *new* thing, but apparently not!

(Yeah, that's right, I made a geeky reference!)

Okay, now that I've helped get us way off topic (though I did have help!), I thought I'd try to bring us back to our training:  what's everyone have on the schedule for this weekend and what area are you trying to improve upon most?

I'm just starting the beginner sprint training program here after doing the couch to sprint and it is already much tougher.  This weekend, I have to swim more than I ever have before in a single session, ride the bike for 2 hours (stop snickering Rudy, for some of us that is alot! ) and then go for a short run.  Even though I want to improve upon my run most, I don't want to suddenly increase my running time so I like the idea of using the swim and bike to improve my overall fitness while I try to improve my run in about the same time as my last plan.

I have also started doing the core exercises that the plan calls for, since I have begun to really feel the importance of your core when I swim and run.  I figure that the worst that can happen is I get more muscular abs.  OH NO!  Laughing

Good training all!

Ha!

My plans for this weekend are to try to stay ahead of Slugger in the "Slugger vs Taser Challenge." Our next check-in is Sunday night/Monday morning. If possible, I'd like to give her a nice taser-tap. (She's scared of the taser though, so she's been super-motivated. I'd increase my running to catch up, but I worry about injury, so....)

I also plan on getting in some biking for the TdF challenge. (Go Team Agritubel!)

And I'll probably do some yard work....

Hey there peeps  YaY for Friday!  I love the weekends.

As far as training goes...I'm going to try for some yardage in the pool tomorrow.  May get a little mileage running on Sunday.  I can chase my son while he rides his bike!  My dh is going to be out of town for the next 4 weeks, so I will have to get creative with my workouts.  Morning runs and lunchtime swims will be the majority of what I'll get to do.   I just figured out that I have PF and I am doing all of the stretching and icing possible to nip that in the butt before it gets too bad.  If you have any rabbits in your hat for fixing it, I'd gladly take the advice.

Have a great weekend!!!

Stretch! Especially the soleus muscle. Also, use your thumbs to massage the soleus & calf muscles.

Also, some people have had luck rolling a small ball (like a golf ball) under their arch and heel.

Im going to try and get a long bike ride in...

Its saturday here already and I just crawled out of bed at 2pm... Ive beeen feeling run down for weeks and with the being sick I thought that was the end of it... appparently not.

So while my training isnt at its normal levels I think Im going to spend some time over the weekend looking at nutrition and other factors/considerations to get myself back on track. Also contemplating a trip to the docs for a general blood screen just to check everything is ok...

I think this afternoon while its really grey and cold outside will be agood time to get organised AND Im making a roast for dinner too... cycling starts 2 hours earlier tonight so its a big night for me!

Hey everybody! How's it going?

Not so good. Slugger is almost TWO hours of running ahead of me! (But only 0.26 miles more.....)

Bleh. I can't increase it any more either. I'm already pushing the amount as it is....

On the plus side, my running is getting better.

I'm getting into the bike this month inspired by TdF, TdF Challenge and Map my Ride Challenge! I have a one mile open water swim this weekend. I hope everyone is doing well and having a nice summer.

Hrm - it sounds like someone needs a risotto delivery.

Chin up - get yourself back together and enjoy the Tour.  I can imagine that with all the organizing of the challenge, you might be a little sick of us and the idea of being on a bike.  Just watch the skinny men do it and then emulate them when you're back up to speed.  We'll be here to cheer you on the whole time!

You are doing excellent Dee - dont push it...

If you DO want to increase your sessions do NOT add anymore running but you could add some more walking at the beginning and the end (longer warm/cool down)
