Nighttime Nibbins 11/21/07 – special edition – Cat was a very tired girl, so Hector offered to tuck her in tell her an action adventure story (evidently singing lullabies isn’t Hector’s thang – LOL).  Soooooo, you will have to read about Gustov and how he crashed into Cat’s room, swinging from a vine with his bushy chest hair exposed due to his half open pirate shirt?????? LMAO

Cat and Dee, left alone in Twisnibbins had an excellent discussion about astronomy (*star* watching)

Non-BT person: "So what did you do last night?"
Dee: "Well, I was star-watching a lot."
Non-BT person: "Oh, I love astronomy too."
Dee: "Huh?"

and how one would explain BT to a non- BT person – lol

Dee: "OK, so we all talk about, well, pretty much about nothing. But it takes a lot of time to do that. Which is why I don't have time for anything else. Including sleep. But I do eat a lot of Little Debbies..... And every now and then, we talk about swimming, or else Hector tells us a bedtime story.... And on occasion, I turn everyone into toads.... And Cat found her fishnets in the bathtub. Although she couldn't remember why she put them there."

Nibbins Notes:  11/22/07

Dee – is traveling today – again, being the mystery woman that she is, I have no idea where she is traveling to – (or maybe I missed that post – lol)  hmmmm, I wonder if Comeandgetit will be traveling with her?

Sal:  Is thankful for Freedom, family, friends and his good health.  Ran his 5k this morning and spent the day enjoying friends, family, and food

Hector:  Went to the beach to try out his new wetsuit.  Got some advice from some seasoned swimmers on the zipper being in the back.  He had a short but good swim, which gave him a lot of confidence in the water.  He is feeling really ready for his race!  He had a house full of family and noisy joy for the holiday.

Max:  Max and Patti did a 5k this morning and have plans to eat an 18lb turkey – lol, I guess I know where we can go for leftovers!  He showed remarkable restraint at dinner – and worked out!

Kendra:  popped in to say “ribbit, ribbit ribbit, croak.”   OHHHHH NOOOOO, Dee’s spell worked, she done turned Kendra into a Toad!

Judi – Had a 0000000 day on the suckometer!!! The ER was slow and not stressful.  Yaaaaay, I guess all of our positive thoughts for her must have helped!  She is now also an Expert after one season of tries and a few challenges of yapping!  LOL

Heather – stopped in to say howdy – she said something about searching ads online – hmmm, I wonder what she’s looking for?

Mila: had a great conversation with her 9 year old about what food items at dinner were healthy, in the end, Mila’s advice was for her to stick with the ham – lol.  She enjoys the southern tradition of moms drinking wine preparing everything but the Turkey, while the men drink beer, fry turkeys and watch the children – oh, and any advice on how to log hamster chasing would be appreciated ;-).

Cat:  Has been working on the swim challenge – woo hoo.  She has a dentist appointment and is not looking forward to it at all.

Pam:  Is looking for tips on a liquid diet to make up for multiple Thanksgiving feasts

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

zipp1 - 2007-11-22 8:08 PM OMG, I just realized that somewhere along the line my "title" moved from extreme veteran to "expert"...did that haappen about 30 postsago and I never noticed it?  Gee, one season and I'm still considering myself just above rookie and this place call me an expert cause I yap with everyone?

O.K. Judi, no associating the title of 'expert' with the title of 'yapper.'  Wouldn't want us folks her on Twisnibbins to get a complex...our egos are fragile...

Hi Hector!!!

Did you have a good day?

Sorry i was catching up on post from earlier. I had a great morning and an interesting evening. Family has a way of making things interesting. But overall it was real good. Ok maybe the fire that started in the backyard was not good but it was comical.

NP - I'm doing some catching up as well

oh, no - a fire in the backyard?

and yes, family does have a way of making things interesting - sometimes good interesting and sometimes not so good interesting - LOL

Short version. I've been married 20 years, separated the last three months, while she figures out what's missing in her life. She had two kids prior to our marriage which I raised as my own, no problem there. She flew out here with my daughter from Texas where she is staying for thanksgiving, no problem there. Out of nowhere and I'm not sure why as of yet, her ex-husband of obviously 20 years ago showed up at my doorstep with his family, very awkward. I assume to see his kids that I have raised and he has not been around for so i buried the hatchet in my mind  and played the good host. At this point i don't care since I overall had a decent time and they get back on a plane on Sunday.  Oh yeah as I was cleaning up in the kitchen and assumed the adults were watching in the back, the kids  kicked the fire pit over. Yup had to run out back and put the fire out.

My plan is to spend the day at the beach tomorrow, starting with some more swimming in the wet suit and followed by some surfing. This will be a solo affair with no family invited. Did I tell you that I'm looking forward to Monday.

Oh my...wouldn't that be ironic, since you've spent a lot of time lately trying to put out fires...heh...

Alas, I am alone.  We had a wonderful day.  Cindy and I ran a 5K with good friends.  I ran the 5K in 23:04 (7:26 min/mile)...um...is that pic worthy?  (I recall vaguely some discussion about reward pics)...spent the majority of the morning cooking the turkey (I really need to learn how to fry a turkey...3 1/2 hours for a 20 lb turkey in a roasting bag still seems a like a long time, but I was a good host and made sure the turkey was cooked, meat thermometer and all)...had good friends over...boy oh boy, they brought over apple pie and chocolate mint bars and cheesecake.  It was too much.  We played games like Farkel and spoons.  I haven't laughed that much in a long time...oh, except of course here in Twisnibbins.  Speaking of which, I'm gonna miss this thread.  One more week, the Twisnibbins reach their goals, and POOF!  On to the swim challenge.  Of course that way I will actually have time to 'inspire' other folks here on BT.  I've been bad lately.

We called family after our friends left, and then I took a 'nap' (9pm to 11:30pm) while the rest of my family watched 'The Incredibles.'  Hence, here I am...AWAKE and blogging on Twisnibbins.  Apparently I'm here alone, but that's O.K., I like my quiet time...(I think I'm going to go copy this into my blog ...

Thank you!! I think so as well :-)

Sounds like you had a wonderful day!  Mine was good as well, although it got off to a strange start - details are in my log

I think you should post it into your blog - it's quite nice and well written!

laughter is such a wonderful thing - I think that's why we've all enjoyed Twisnibbins so much - it will be interesting to see what the December challenge brings - are you going to participate?

I also am having trouble sleeping - some day I'll learn not to take naps in the late afternoon :-)

The FIRST thing that would probably come to my mind if a police officer came to the door asking for one of my kids would be ANGER.  I can only imagine what was going through your head when you first saw the officer at the door...

at first it was confusion, i had no idea why she was there - then, when she was saying things about him acting suspiciously and avoiding her 'all the way home', I started wondering if he had been drinking and driving (to my knowledge he hasn't done that, but I'm also not an idiot) - so then i was mad, but still confused

i also really was having a hard time believing what she was saying - the whole thing was bizarre

my emotions just ran the gammit!

I'm glad your kids are o.k.  I guess we sometimes get too comfortable living out here in the 'suburbs.'  We did have an incident here a few months ago where a guy tried to lure a young girls into his car.  She had the smarts to run.

Well, I guess we can't 'blame' her if she's 'travelling'...

Oh...I forgot...didn't Kendra have a race this weekend too?  I guess the guys have to deliver too...

True - lol

I promise to come up with something motivational ;-)

I'm pretty sure Kendra's race is Dec 2

yep - just checked

of course I'm sure she would appreciate some pre-race motivation

I like 'motivational'

sparco - 2007-11-23 12:52 AM Boy, you know how to put on a party.  16 for dinner and 25 for dessert!  All family?

LOL - yep!  all family

I enjoy entertaining

some of my friends call me 'party in a box' cuz, whenever people come to my house, i have a knack for throwing together a party in an instant (or so it seems to them)

I guess we go in phases.  We usually prep for big events, but most of the time we just enjoy having friends over to chat.  You must have some creative flair if you can entertain on a moment's notice...

That's scary - good thing she was smart!  Wow

I think that was what made the whole situation even more strange - it's a very nice area of town and we're not exactly used to seeing the cops patroling the area

we've had several break in's in the area over the past month or so - my daughter's car among them - so the police have been around more, i suspect someone reported the group of kids that my son was trying to avoid

apparently they have been entering homes through the back door, so when my son walked into the back of the house and entered through the back door, they thought he was breaking into the house

I think I inherited it from my mom - I honestly don't even think of it as entertaining or throwing a party when it's an impromptu thing - but my friends have commented on that more than once

I guess I do have a bit of a flair (for something anyway) - LOLOL
