Expert 1566![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSEDIt really is worth the investment and will make such a huge difference in your riding. Good luck though and hope you can pull it off .ltcsh1 - 2011-02-12 10:33 AM I was bad today, but now I am in love. So I went to my LBS to look around for information only since right now I am riding a MT and hope to get a real road bike. Well my looking is over, I have found the one. It is a Trek 1 series and is everything I will ever need. Now to see if my wife and I can agree to the purchase. |

Expert 1566![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSEDAre you pushing yourself too hard maybe? That could be why you are running out of breath. I know everyone has talked about this before and I am probably just sounding like a broken record but just relax while you are in the water. It will come soon - just keep working at it. Does your coach have you breathing every 4th stroke or was that just a drill? I started in November. I still have to stop. I can't swim more than 100 yards without stopping for 10-20 seconds and catching my breath. All my distances done in my log are done with drills. My swim coach has a dry erase board that she leaves for her students so we can do it without her there, I just can't remember what they are when I get home to log them in. Todays swim wasn't as good as yesterdays. I'm a little soar though, so that's probably why. I'm not giving up! I was able to go four strokes before having to take a breath consistantly for the first time. So it's getting better. |

WOW - I gotta use this weather while I can. |

I completely understand the bike thing and what is great is that you now know what you want and you are establishing a nice relationship with your bike shop. I think that is a key component to all of this bike shopping thing. I had a great guy I was dealing with at a bike shop in town but he recently left to pursue another job. I went in there last week and just did not get the same vibe from anyone in there. I will give the new staff a chance but I just feel like moving on to another bike shop now and establishing another relationship. I go in there now and I feel like a stranger and for a new person to the sport, you don't really want to feel that way. This sport is intimidating enough. Have a great week. KC |

Extreme Veteran 424![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lockport, IL | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSEDYesterday was an awesome day for a run. I must have been feeling really well as my pace just seemed to plummet despite the high winds coming out of the west and I stayed well in zone. Missed my 1:17 bike on Saturday and planned on hitting it Sunday. It just wasn't in the cards. I'm travelling to Charlotte, NC this week for 3 days, so Tuesday's workout schedule is going to take a hit. I'm not overly concerned about missing a workout here or there this week as I feel like my volumes are really coming along well and it's a fallback week. Be safe out there! |

It all depends on the workout for me. If I feel like I've REALLY worked myself beyond just "normal" endurance training, I'll make a protein shake. Other than that, I'm going for water and food. I don't know from empirical evidence, but I've heard that the best way to give your body what it needs is to eat, but obviously eat well. |

Expert 1566![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSEDI usually do the chocolate milk. For longer workouts I will first put down about 12-16 oz of sports drink and have a piece of fruit. I was thinking of trying some of the recovery drinks on the market but haven't yet. I have a hard time eating right after a workout of more than 2 hours so I usually stay liquid for the first 30-60 minutes. gabrelsj - 2011-02-14 8:23 AM i saw this question posted on another thread and thought it was interesting. the question was "what is your favorite post-workout drink?" i was surprised that most everyone said that they favored chocolate milk for workouts less than 1 hour. i was glad to hear because i love chocolate milk but was surprised. what are your favoritte post-workout drinks/food? does anyone drinnk chocolate milk as a post-workout drink? |
