TAN #154: What are you TANkful for this time of year? (Page 43)

My French is so exquisitely bad that I was almost able to have a conversation with a four-year-old French girl in the Gili Islands.

I used to babysit a cockatoo owned by an Oscar winner, and it would only respond to, and in, French.

Most of mine are movie, TV, or music quotes I post in the mornings while at work. It gives me something to do to keep from going postal. I like to see who gets the quotes.

Same thing you do in TAN. Not bad. They're not always the most scintillating of quotes, though they're usually pretty fun, and it's almost like a quiz.

My body is covered in crusty scabs from insect bites and rashes.

Charming as that may be, it doesn't answer your question--I actually went out and shook my azz around the neighborhood for 45min today.

Speaking of which, what happened to Trivia Wednesdays?!?!?!

Been too sick and traveling too much back and forth to Jakarta to do quiz on Wednesdays. I miss them too.

What I don't miss, though, is being packed into a room for several hours where 90% of the people are smoking.

Well, I did have a fabulous seafood barbecue dinner with two piglets.

My cat just ate the leftover popcorn off the floor, which no doubt has insecticide and repellent residue on it.

Oh well.

It happens to the best of us...

I'm a dog guy, myself.

What's funny is I was the ultimate dog person (as in, career and business) and really, REALLY did not like cats.

Some idiot gave me two kittens as a PRESENT ... now I've become a crazy old cat lady.

I think that you only qualify as the crazy cat lady, if you go to get the newspaper in a house coat, your hair in curlers, and the cats eat better than you do.

it takes double digit number of cats to be the cat lady and you aren't old, but you are crazy in a good way!!!

This is my morning routine.

Wake up. Cat tail in my face. Bite tail, cat yowls but comes back for more. Need to pee. Get out of bed and open the bathroom door. Swarm of mosquitoes pours out.

Slam door shut. Grab insecticide. Holding breath, open bathroom door and empty the can into there. Close door.

Still need to pee. Open back door, dogs rush outside and start sniffing around. Shuffle out into backyard, squat, let go. Invariably, one of the Funny Farm members will run into me, swirl around my legs, or do something else stupid to get peed on.

Shuffle back into house, grumbling, realize I'm in no shape to be up and about, go back to bed.

At some point, wake up to pots and pans banging in the kitchen and sound of running water. The maid has come in and is cooking for the pets.

I'm lucky if I get coffee.

That truly is horrendous. I'm so sorry to hear it. Pretty amazing that you are still grateful for the many good things. I will pray for your son. You probably meant to post this elsewheres, but I'm glad I saw it.
