What saddle did you have and what is the new one?
There are so many saddles for men and only a few for women.

hehe Dee has started tap tap tapping... thats serious

I got another ride today.. its like spring out there... positively sunny and balmy!

The new saddle has stopped the pain I was getting... and created some discomfort in another area...

Which saddle were you using, and which one do you have now?  I just got a Terry Butterfly a few months ago, and I could ride across the country on that thing...it is sooooo comfy!

Hey guys, struggling to get workouts in as workload seems to do nothing but increase.  I'm down to lifting once per week sometimes two (may not get logged either).

Good news is I got to take a three day weekend and spent it drinking and eating in Chicago... Nice weather and hangin' with friends rejuvinated me for work - only 3-4 more weeks of working 12 + hours (eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at work these days) and then it will either calm down or they won't need me anymore.  I've already put some feelers out there with recruiters so I can move onto something relatively quickly if I need to; however, I wouldn't mind taking some time off.

That's about it for now, just wanted to stop in to let you know I'm still trying to stay involved.

Congrats on the new PR!  Your race reports are ALWAYS entertaining.  I can't wait to see how long they will be on a race longer than a sprint.

Hiya all - I'm back from my trip.  I ate too much, exercised too little and thought about things a bit.  It was a great time!

I'm looking forward to getting back to work and seeing if I can come up with any more silly little questions to pose.

I had a Terry saddle come with the bike and I hated it! Riculous isnt it... how what works for one person wont work for another?

I think tried an Athena saddle which gave me issues in one sensitive spot...

So tried a Venus saddle which is not puting pressure on some very sensitive nerve endings...

It is amazing how different each person and their saddle preference is!

Good luck finding the right one!!

Hacienda Tres Rios - it's where are getting married.  The coordinator was spot on with arranging everything, the food was a bit fancier than we typically eat but so good and the eco-park on the grounds was lovely.  Without our wedding rate, I don't know if we could afford it (I know our family couldn't) but I guess that's what group rates are for.

Ok the basicas are:

1 - Reduce VOLUME

2 - Take a complete day off two days before the event

3 - Keep up intensity if you like early in the week - so instead of doing a 1 hour ride for example... make it 30 minutes but put a few picks ups in the middle of the session so.... 10 minute warm up, then do 2 minutes on/2 minutes off maybe 3 times... then ride steady for a bit and cool down....

4 - The day before the event.... I suggest you do something short but active... or nothing depends on on what words best for you..someimes a walk is what you need.. its personal

4 - Sleep well

5 - Eat well

If in doubt... rest more, sleep more and de less!!!!

Thanks Cat!
The event is Sunday, I plan to have my last little run Monday. I'll do a few short rides short rides max 30-40 minutes instead of 1-2 hour. I'll have my last swim Wednesday. I'll take Friday off though I may take an Aqua Aerobics class. Other days I'll do an easy elliptical workout. Good thing I won't have to work on the TdF Challenge next week.

My only advice is to get a good night's sleep two days before your event.  Between the nerves and excitement for mine, I woke up at everything (I was ready to throttle my poor cat) and barely slept.

You must be getting a little excited after all this time.  Even if not, I think I am for you.

The thing is its ok to not sleep the night before the race... it happens to everyone, its nerves...

Thats why I say to makes sure you get to bed early/on time all week so you are well rested...

If you cant sleep well the night before just dont worry about it!

Awww, we're just like a big dysfunctional family gathering where everyone wants to give you our two cents to make sure you do well (well, except for ole'crazy Grandma Dee on the couch over there.  We're just happy when she doesn't say anything too crazy, taser someone or soil herself.   Tongue out).

Four days out in a meeting at work is when the nerves started getting to me.  Darn boring meetings allow me too much time to think!
