I used to do chocolate milk, but as of this week I'm going for the protein shake.  I've been loosing about three pounds of weight per week since I started this, so I need to up my calorie intake a little.  I think someone else here was going through the same thing and suggested the protein for more quality calories.

Quality of calories is critical. I've turned into a bottomless pit lately.  Sometimes I'll eat and be immediately hungry.  I've paid attention to what I was eating and found that if a meal was carb-heavy and I eat again with more carbs - I've stayed hungry.  Throw down a protein shake and voila! not hungry anymore.  Don't know if it's psychosomatic or not, but it can't hurt to get good calories in.

Kind of worried becasue my knee cap is sore today.  The reason I started doing triathlon was because I was beating myself up with the marathon training and I have not had one injury in the past 1-1/2 years.  I am starting to wonder if going for my sub 4 hour marathon is worth it if I end up getting hurt.  I still have 10 more weeks to go - ughh

Sorry to hear about the knee cap - just keep monitoring it and ice it as well - at least that is what my physio therapist is always telling me when I see him about my aches and pains.

How is that heart rhythm thing been lately?

Hi Team.

Another swim?? ?l?e?s?s?o?n? ?t?o?d?a??w?i?t?h?? ?m??c?o?a?c?h??.???????
??
?
?Really wo?rking on body positions during kick and head position for breathing - 750 meters but difficult. I still finish 50 meters just begging for air so we are working on it.

Back to the weights today - decent work out and curling tonight.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

KC

PS - seems like our group is getting smaller - has anyone heard from a few of the team that have not checked in lately?

i agree with kc.  ice and rest.  probably your body not used to the miles.  if your main goal is sub 4 hour then i would push on with some caution.  if tris are your focus then think about adjusting that goal.

razorxp - 2011-02-13 6:48 PM Hi everyone just seeing how your doing. 1 more day of skiing and then i head back home. Legs are feeling great.

Two bikes over the weekend, 2 hours and 3 hours.  Both with VO2 drills.  Saturday's 2 hour was followed by a brick on the treadmill, one hour with hill repeats at 3.5 to 3 %.  Feeling good.  Tonight are weights and pt, yoga.  Tuesday swim, bike.  Wednesday the run club training program starts with a short 3 miles outside.  Thursday, swim and bike.  Friday, rest.  Saturday I assume a ride and run again.  Meeting with the coach on Friday to firm plans for the year.  Good week.

New Rumble Roller feels like it's getting deep.  Two trigger points still on each IT band.  Trying to break them up. harsh.

Y'all have a good, safe one.

I can't wait untill I have time to do all that!!  Sounds awesome!!

Time, what's that?    Full time reporter, part-time magazine writer, collaborating on a second book, husband, 12 hours a week devoted to recovery.  Time? HA! I got LIFE!

Ok - so, a 3:15am wakeup call to make a 6am flight.  I don't know that I'll have it in me to do the swim/strength workout I have on my plan. In fact, I think the day is a wash.  I'm going to get some quality sleep tonight and throwdown some quality workouts tomorrow and Thursday.

Be safe out there!

Good call Rob on getting some rest - Are you out of town and trying to get your workouts in or are you heading back today?

I had a great swim today - I decided to "sneak" into my old masters swim group -haha  A few of my biketraining partners still swim and just read the workout off the white board.  Amazing how the time goes by when you swim with a group.  i forgot.  These guys I swim with are crazy fast.  we did 500Y Time Trial and they were 6:45 and 7:15 and then my lazy butt came in at 9:10.  I like it though becasue it is going to push me harder to try and keep up.  I should have expected it becasue they do the same on the bike.  I just have to be at the pool at 4:55am - ughh

Thanks to everyone for the knee advice.  It is feeling better today with a rest day yesterday.  I am only doing 10 this weekend and then 19 next week so it wil lahve some time to rest up.

It's a fishing book.  I'm an outdoor writer.  I wrote it with Greg Bohn on Slip bobbers for walleye.   A classic

I'm out of town on business and am going to get my workouts in.  Downtwon Charlotte is great to run through in the mornings.  It has nice architecture and it's super-quiet at 5am.  I'm going to be hitting the local aquatics center and am toying with the notion of contacting a local tri coach to see if they can take a look at my swim.

Hey guys, I've been a little out of the loop.  Last couple weeks have been crazy with the weather and packing stuff up.  We're starting to get into slight panic mode about selling our house since we need to be moved before May when school starts.  So now that the weather is nice, most of my free time is spent traveling back and forth to the storage unit or packing boxes or cleaning.  We're changing realtors at the end of the month so hopefully this one will be able to sell our house.

Needless to say, I haven't had a ton of time to train.  Hopefully after this week, we'll have all the junk we don't need will be packed away so things can get back to normal and I can get back to training on a regular basis.  At least my first olympic is in June so I have some time.

Everyone else seems to be rocking it.  The season is fast approaching. When is everyone's first triathlon this year?  Mine is a sprint on April 17.

June 19th for me - Leamington Ontario - The Tomato Man Sprint (Leamington is the tomato capital of Canada believe it or not and is where Heinz ketchup is made). Now you all have one more small piece of useless information to file away in your memory banks - LOL.

Good Luck with the move and the sale. I hope you get what you want.

Hey Team.

Decided to hit the pool to work on breathing and to continue to get a better feel for the water today.

Left the pool, drove home and did a nice 4 km run.

Nice day.

I believe I am back to 100%Smile

Have a great night everyone.

KC - glad you are back up and in the game Laughing.

Has everybody seen the new BT app for the Iphone so you can log workouts? Love being able to log on the go!

My first Tri for this year at the moment is my HIM June18. It's actually the only one I have signed up for so far. I am thinking I will sign up for a sprint in May. It's on the same course as my second one I did 2 years ago, I would love to see how much my time might have improved! I have to see if I can swing it $ wise before it sells out.
