Wilson's kids enjoying a refreshing gin & tonic:

This is a simply fantastic photo!

I just can't decide whether to say:

A true glimpse into gang life as it is in the heart of our country.  Who knew they start on the gin and juice so early these days?

or

Is there any doubt these are Wilson's kids?  They certainly seem to have have his drinking technique down!

Me exiting the swim!!!  Fine fashion I'd say!!!  I have 500 some photos to go through.  Lots of good ones of everyone...I'll try and get them put together soon and post them in an album.

Awesome pic, Wilson!!  Where's Brad in this pic??  Oh yeah, he's in front of you!  Ha ha, just kidding... but way to go Brad on the swim!  But Wilson kicked your shaking behind on the bike and the run.........   as did I......

Wilson, we were SUPPOSED to have a slide show of the pics, but someone got drunk.... actually everyone got drunk except lil ol' me because I'm so shy and demure....

I SO wish I would have been there - it sounds like you all had a blast. I am, however, not sure which of these posts to believe...or not!? This is what I've got in my head so far..

Hilde was an angel and contributed nothing to the mayhem

Brad has great hair and I should look for him in the next issue of GQ

Wilson doesn't even know who, if anyone was there because he was puking and passed out head down in the hot tub (you know, that cloudy water issue...)

Tammy is not only an amazing triathlete but a gold medal gymnast as well

Have I covered it all?

Hey gang, I posted about my echo stress test on my blog.  Long story short - test went well - nothing crazy abnormal noted so far...I should get the full scoop on the entire test tomorrow.  If this comes back normal I may say F-IT and stop playing the medical guinea pig game and go with what I think it is....So far nobody has been able to dismiss that theory....and all this testing has come up with nothing..nada....just thousands of dollars of procedures...I'll bet I'm getting towards 10k now...thankfully my insurance is decent and I'll only pay a portion of that.   So, I'll let you guys know tomorrow what they say - if they call.  I was wanting the results of this test before I went balls out training...I think i just should go balls out anyhow...hell I made it through the Tri at 170 bpm for over an hour!

Sorry to hear of the medical mystery tour you are on Wilson - hope you get some answers without spending another grand!

Thanks for asking about me. I'm holding my own. The next tough step will be telling the kids - school is done on Thursday of this week so we'll likely tell the kids this weekend (didn't want to rock my son's world until school was out - he already has enough behavior problems! Beyond that, I need to start packing and prepping for the move after we tell the kids so my life will be consumed with that for a while. Kids and I move into our new place on August 1st - looking forward to it!

I've been running and swimming and lifting. A few bike rides but I'm having trouble finding big enough chunks of time to get any decent riding in right now.

Hi everybody!

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days-- Steppenwolf's really been stepping up the activity level for the start of week 3. Much as I hated missing out on the later stages of the party, I did manage to avoid most of the rain...and DID see Brad shaking his bootay, thankew very much! Next time we all get together: tango and/or bellydance lessons, say I! I'm so glad I drove down to hang out with you guys for a while-- 'twas crazy in the very best of ways, and I can't wait until we do it again!

Speaking of crazy, a massive thunderstorm just blew in (with a tornado watch attached), so will sign off here and prep for tomorrow, hoping it's at least a little drier out there when I have to leave the house! Stay safe and crazy, you marvelous MMMers!

Glad all is well with you.  Those of us who weren't able to make it are still jealous, if only to have witnessed the awesome spectacle occurred.

I have to ask - and I know I probably missed this but what the heck is Steppenwolf, other than a rocking band from the late 60's and early 70's?

Steppenwolf is the name of Alex's theater group....

So I've been trying to update my dashboard and it is being a BIATCH!!!  My cursor jumps to the top of the page wherever I try to insert it... I even asked for help on the Help Forum, but I am so frustrated!!  I am trying to recreate it after totally deleting it, and I'm still having problems, and after over an hour of working on it, I am giving up.  I'll try and do some more tomorrow.

So mean! Yes, I went up an age group. Around here, 35-39 is so much more competitive than 30-34 that I am a bit scared to see where I am going to fall relative to everyone else. I like being in the top third of the back of the pack!

Hello Mother.....Can I become an active member of your group...or are you going to reject me like you did Brad with the great hair??  I don't know that I have any detailed photos of granny panties available just yet, but I can work on that.

Love you!

Okay, everyone, we have one more new member... Kati is my daughter that has watched me tri for over 2 years now, and is catching the bug... I think she caught it a little more after seeing a cute guy with great hair in a tight wetsuit, but whatever, right??  I don't HOW she came up with that user name, do YOU, Wilson???  For those of you who didn't meet Kati, she is just as crazy as I am, but with less tact, ha ha!!  Kati, go ahead and post a short bio of yourself, what you do, family, your tri goals, etc.  Brad you can do that too since you are new to the group.

Here's an updated MMM list to include Brad and Kati:  Ooops, can't add Kati, she has to change her settings so I can access her logs.  Keeks, go up to the very top, click on settings under the wrench icon, then click on the Training Log Settings tab, and then click the box "allow guests of the site to view any logs you have made public".  Then click the Update button on the bottom, then we can all access your training logs and INSPIRE you!  I'll update the list once Kati updates.

I've updated those settings Ma!  Oh...and I CANNOT believe you busted me out like that....payback is a !

Hi Everyone....My name is Kati...and I am a beginner Triathlete (I think I've seen this on TV for AA meetings before and thought it was very effective)....

I'm 27 and live in Temple TX.  I was an athlete my whole youth and never thought I'd see the day I had to make an effort to be in shape...SUCKS!  Anyway, I'm totally clueless, will probably have plenty of cool injury pics learning how to use those clippy things on the bike.  In any event, I think this forum is a beautiful thing for me as I can learn from all of you experienced people

I work full time as an Account Manager at a Wholesale Distribution Center called Friend Tire Company.  I've been there about 5 1/2 years, and feel that a daily workout MAY ease work related stress.  When I'm not at that job, I'm a full time single mommy.  My son will be 3 next month, and he's amazing.  Mom...you talked about your dogs....I really don't want to talk about Charlie, he's possessed, and might creep everyone out.

I look forward to building a relationship with each and all of you, on a more athletic and goal-oriented path, not at the wrath of Wilson's bartending capabilities....  I will NEVER live that down!

Hi Keeks!

Two things - your shirt is for the wrong team in your photo (I can't believe your mother lets you go out in public like that!) and second, we need to hear more about Charlie the possessed and creepy dog.

Otherwise, welcome to the group.  I think we've got some ex-athletes, some current athletes and some drunks in the group so you should have lots to talk about with everyone and feel right at home!

PS  If you don't fall and make a complete idiot out of yourself, preferably with some sort of small injury, when learning how to use the clipin pedals then you'd be WAY better than 90% of the people around this website.  It's not a matter of if but when it happens.  Some people even do it a few times, much to the delight and longstanding amusement of their spouses/significant others/bystanders - not that I'd know about such matters from personal experience or anything.

My son poisoned Charlie by feeding him Christmas Chocolates last year, and I don't know that he ever recovered.  He's sort of stuck between a dog-diagnosed version of Tourettes Syndrome, Tremors, ummmm....Schizophrenia possibly.  He's very sweet.....when he's in the backyard and I talk to him through the back door though.

Yea...my shirt isn't a New Orleans shirt however it IS colored similarly.  Maybe I will wear it while practicing clipping my feet in, in front of my over-protective retired neighbors, and maybe even Charlie.  Nice to meet you, and I'm going to have a discussion with my Mom about putting my childhood name on this discussion board....SMH

Kati - I have had so many mishaps with my clip-ins that I don't even count them anymore.  However, one time in Kentucky I fell over in front of about 200 people on a large group ride.  Boy, did I feel stupid!

Someone needs to tell Brad (great hair) that I need access to his training log.  Hopefully there will be tons of pictures so I can better understand what all of the excitement is about.

I'm on board for a 5k on Saturday this week and still plan on doing Interockin' tri in July.  I bumped down to the sprint distance so I think I'll be OK.  I'm still on the fence about a fall marathon, but I'm training for one with the idea of Grand Rapids in October.  Prices go up in August so I'll make my decision by then.

Oh and by the way,  my marathon training includes some bike and swim workouts in order to keep my MMM accreditation.

Kati - Glad you made it to the group! As for falling whilst clipped in to the bike, I did it on purpose a couple times (made sure there was some nice green grass to fall onto) and STILL managed to fall out on a ride w/your mom! On a rough road at that......bloody knees are only dignified when you are a member of the elite MMM group!! LMAO  I look forward to the hours of tears running down my face from the craziness of you and Wilson oh and Shawn combined w/Ms. Whipcracker aka Hilde!!

Brad - Welcome to the group and glad that you forgave Hilde for refusing your entry to begin with! The bio is a necessary evil my friend as are pictures of some type...all of us non-Zionsville attendees are ever so curious about the HAIR OF BRAD!! LOL

Marsha - Hang in there lady!

All  - So my husband keeps making reference to how physically solid I was when he returned from a trip to Korea about 3 years ago (went from 26% bodyfat postpartum to 15% in 7 months!. Today I found the 'meal plan' I was on for 15 solid months and I WANT to do it again. Here's the problem ya'll.....I show my husband the meal plan and 10 minutes later he's asking me to make him brownies. FREAKIN BROWNIES are you serious dude?!! Grrr Yell

I keep thinking about one of Marsha's fabulous posts about the difference between the desire to DO something and actually DOING it....It is simply SO MUCH doggone harder when he is home.. Any suggestions?

I'm off to bed now....have a hot date w/the lake tomorrow morning alongside the Whipmaster with a run planned prior to that. Need as much REST as I can get!! LOL  Cool

Kati-

When I got my clipless pedals, I soon fell over once on each side. The first was at an intersection in front of God and everybody- I unclipped my left foot, but the bike had other ideas and fell over to the right. The second was at a "transition clinic" hosted by a local tri club where some of the hot shots were showing off their flying dismounts (one second they're riding into transition at 15 mph, the next they're running next to their bike). I rode off, just THINKING about how to make that happen- not even TRYING it - and fell over. That little maneuver is definitely NOT for me!

Welcome to the group!

Tammy
