What do you think dee?

A 1.2 mile swim followed by a 56 mile bike? Oooh. I think I'd be better off watching! I could do the Race Party. LOL

You could do the Oly....

BT will be there. With cowbells.

hehe well if BT will be there.... and we know you are addicted to BT....

I've always wanted a cowbell....

You can tie the cowbell onto your bike.

Or bring it on the OWS so I don't have to yell for help.

Nice try. I've seen your swim logs. You're a shark. A Little Debbie eating shark!

Hi Nibbins!

I'm not sure how much I can type, I think my arms may have fallen off during my swim - LOL

Hi Beth! Pam and Cat have found a race for you. In June. It has an AQUABIKE option, even.

Really?? when where?

ok I'll go read the notes and find out - LOL

Here:

that would be so much fun!

I don't think it's in the cards for me this year though.  My daughter graduates Memorial Day weekend, and I learned the hard way last year that a graduating senior really eats into the training time! (and last year it was a boy - a girl will be even worse!)

Speaking of 'finding yourself' in this pursuit of endurance sports, I'm beginning to think more and more than I may just do 'part' of a tri as a relay team each year (there's always someone who can swim) and mix century rides with run races and that's who I am.

Duathlons are going to be won always by people who can run like the wind. I can't. So what's the point of banging your head against the wall?

Hey Spokes,

I think you've finally convinced yourself of something!

I don't care how slow I swim, I'll do tri's until I can't do any of the individual sports.

Word Donto!  My first open water swim, I hung out and chatted with one of the lifeguards while I was hanging on the float waiting to catch my breath.  NOTHING can be more humiliating than that.  But we just keep on keeping on...

I MIGHT make it through the swim. But I'd need to hang onto a car during the bike. And then I'd need roller skates with a tow line to the car for the run.

Who did you get as your mentor? medic? want me to have a word about getting you going for an Oly in June?

LOL

Go ahead.

Sal, I love your story!  I agree with Cat, it's very motivational - I bet that will be one you share with your mentees!

on another note, how in the heck did we get to page 37 so fast?

You've got to love that "never say die" mentality. That's what makes this sport great! Thanks for sharing, Sal. Well, I'm going to bed early tonight. Gonna rest my shoulder. Post-padding seems to be good therapy for it though, cuz it feels better. Night night, Nibbins.
