  • .. except for ole'crazy Grandma Dee on the couch over there.  We're just happy when she doesn't say anything too crazy, taser someone or soil herself.   Tongue out).

  • Dear Shawn,

It's 2 AM. I'm still online. I'm sleep deprived. And I'm contemplating your particular payback for the above comment.

You'll be hearing from me soon. VERY soon.

    Your pal,

Hopefully, you've gotten lots of sleep since you wrote this (and all of your tasers mirculously discharged last night).  If not, can I offer you an adorable picture to help explain my position on the matter?  Innocent

    No really, I am innocent!

I think it was a combination of the run and the bike. The course was very very hilly and my legs were shot by the end.

I think it was more that I got him alone in the bike storage room and was a guy.  I mean I heard rumors that later in the day, the swarms of women around him were as thick as killer bees!

This is pretty good advice - though I'm still working on the thanking through my huffing and puffing.  The other thing that I found really helpful was using a list for my transition bag that I found online (I can't remember where now though and it is at home).  Taking most of the thought out of that made me VERY happy.

You are so going to rock the race.  I can't wait to read your report and hear how you did!

All good advice.... just think it through... take your time in transitions... be methodical...

Smile lots...even if at sometimes you arent feeling it....

AND... anytime you see a phtographer smile...specially at the finish line!

Remember you are racing against yourself only and set these goals:

    1. Have Fun!

    2. Start the race!

    3. Finish the race!

Do any of these 3 things and you have won!

lol - Cat's totally right about the smiling part (along with everything else, as usual).  I didn't realize how either a) angry or b) in pain I looked throughout my race.  I think I was just overly focused but I sure am glad that there will be other races that I can get a photo from this year.

I got my number, chip and wave time. I'm in a wave that starts 12 minutes after the race start but waves go off for over an hour after me. I'm going to be passed alot but at least I won't be straggled late out on the course.

I tried to tri but the weather didn't cooperate so they changed it to a duathlon (sp?) I got to finish but I think most did not. A few minutes after I started the second run thunder showers and a torrential downpour hit so they didn't let anyone else start the run. I'm guessing a third to a half were allowed to finish but I'm not sure. Now I'm looking for another sprint to do this month so I can become official ASAP.
It was fun and I will post a race report soon.
