I need to add to the end - "but not close to the flames".

esc - 2008-10-22 3:57 PM Quiet in here today.  Are people actually at work and being productive?  How am I supposed to be a slacker without accomplices?  I'm not like Phil.  I can't just talk to myself for pages at at time.

Hi Emily!

how'd your exam go?

Meh.  I feel neither good nor bad about it.  On the plus side, it seemed like lots of folks were struggling so if I did poorly at least I'll be in good company.

I can't talk to Phil for pages at a time either.... Oh! That's not what you meant!

I am slacking in the best way, I am not working today. I work a 3-day week and I now have Wednesday and Friday off. Yay! I spent the afternoon getting the new Cervelo fitted! I couldn't be happier right now.

Pictures?

I like to stare at shiny bikes!

Me too, I love checking out bikes! I'll post a picture, but it's not bike porn worthy yet. This shot was just after the fitting but it has no brakes/gears yet, the bars aren't taped. I went with the silver bar tape and white brake cables, it will look amazing! It will either be ready tonight or tomorrow. The bottle cage and computer I wanted are on order as well so I'll take it back in a couple weeks and have it finished. I'm hoping to have my race wheels soon as well. I can't wait to ride it!

Did they hook you up with an aero tapper, or perhaps a flask?

Maybe i should fill my gel flask with booze, that would be so like me

a 3 day work week sounds like a winner!  how can I get one of those?

I quit my job and risked it all to be a freelancer. I successfully made it through the first year, but I had to give up a lot in the process. Unfortunately I don't get paid for the time off, but i don't care. I'd rather have the time!

But just wait when you meet her in person.  2 hours fly by, and you just MIGHT get a word in.

I *heart* that paint scheme!  I really, really want to go bike shopping but it is so not fiscally responsible at this point.

I also want to take my road bike in to have aerobars installed and get a proper fitting.  But I'm sort of afraid that the "new bike fumes" will go to my head and I'll accidently forget all about being responsible and walk out with a brand new bike.

I guess I'll have to live vicariously through you.  Enjoy that new ride!

OK folks I am off to get a few miles on the legs.  Since it is cold and windy I am going to the fitness center to run on the "dreadmill", hopefully I will be back in time for Game 1 of the World Series.

The sad part is, I've only had my current bike for about six months.  In no way to I NEED a new bike.  What I need is to work on the engine.  But, dang, those bikes look FAST!

so, I haven't been able to ride my bike since I moved out here

my helmet, sunglasses, and tire pump went to storage and my bike went to the apartment..........

didn't worry about it at first - too much to do to get settled on the weekends

tried looking for the stuff in storage..............

and now that we're settled, I'm questioning whether or not I should spend the money on something I won't use for another 6 months

- unless.............hmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if I could get a deal?

Hey team, I had a few to drink tonight I've been considering a career move to the beer industry for 1.5 years so I spent tonight with the master brewer, president and lead sales guy of Duvel USA. They've almost got me convinced

But it took many beers and I'm meeting  BTer rcberto for a run at 7am so I need to regroup and go to bed! Hope everyone had a great night. I'm going to catch up on the thread now.
