I was gone because I was busy playing with the pink stuff haha yeah - busines development is a weird field in any industry... you arent really a rep (although you sometimes get taken on sales calls and meeting with clients -well my boss does, Im still growing into it), you arent really a creative person (although you have to be involved with coming up with great ideas for clients) and you arent a pure research person (although you ahve to know how to use all the research tools to access and use the data in the best possible way for sales) Right now I would say Im more research focused because thats what the bulk of the job is, ratings and other research tools but I also have to be able to spot and formulate a sales argue as well as make sure all the over reaching brand positioning is covered in every proposal I develop... . Long term it should be pretty awesome! And skills i can use anywhere in the world.... |

There is something about working in broadcasting that people find fascinating! hehe well in my first job I was often ON the radio, and after that I voiced some commercials... hearing my own voice weirded me out! I guess its the mix of talent, creative types and suits all working for the one company and often they all need to get along... have you seen the show 30 Rock? there are moments in that which make me laugh because its kind of true..... about product integration etc |
