The hay is in the barn! You will do great (and possibly better) in the H/M without the workout today. I am surprised they have you doing intervals that close but hey what do I know. I know we stopped intervals the week before our taper for our Mary plan and just ran race pace for our runs. That is key - intervals won't get you anywhere for Sunday! I second this motion. Nothing will be gained or LOST by not running today. YOU WILL ROCK THE HM ON SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill and Ann give some great advice. Your body is saying 'give me some rest so I can whoop this HM's A$$!' Sounds like a great time to listen |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #4 ive been jonesin on Kung Pao Chicken. we have our favorite Chinese place and we order their Kung Pao on a fairly regular basis, but now that the boys are older and they eat more (darn kids!) we usually end up placing two orders, and that gets pricey. i was looking for KUNG PAO recipes on the internet. im not sure how this compares, but i was gonna the recipe a whirl (when i have money to buy food that i dont have to steal. LOL) wanted to post it here, in case any of my GHOULIES were jonesin on KUNG PAO too.

Awesome! this really is what its all about, IS IT NOT? hm. and here i thought it was all about getting to THREAD 5. tee heee. NO SERIOUSLY. ALL KIDDING ASIDE. you GHOULIES ARE ROCKSTARS. were SMASHING THIS CHALLENGE TO SMITHEREENS (wasnt that my predicition on Thread #1) for those still working towards their GOALS. RUN LIKE YOU MEAN IT. IF YOU RUN EM POST EM. RUN GHOULIE RUN!!!! stacieb To be honest this is the very first time I will ever hit 100% in a challenge if I remember correctly. I always set my goal to a point where I am "Challenging" myself to obtain that goal. Nothing out of this world like walking on the moon but where I have to push myself. I wimped out this month and pulled sessions (this is directed to me only so if you do sessions I mean no offense at all because it is great to be training no matter how much!) because I really did not have a good feel for how far I could run easily and with pushing myself. It worked out because of aqua jogging but I was thinking last night in the pool that I would have been stuck if I had picked miles because I am not going to do a 3 hour long run in the pool We have done great this month because a lot people have pushed themselves places they have not been before and to me that is what the challenge is all about. So join us next month for the disdain challenge because when you learn to love that what you hate it only makes you that much stronger! i know you and i like to poke fun and joke and all, but seriously all kidding aside. WHAT YOU SAID BILL IS GOLDEN! We have done great this month because a lot people have pushed themselves places they have not been before and to me that is what the challenge is all about. So join us next month for the disdain challenge because when you learn to love that what you hate it only makes you that much stronger! what i LOVED is that there is SUCH a sense of comaraderie amongst, a real community. i know i refer to it as a VILLAGE, but i get a real sense of CONNECTEDNESS when i come here. i do most of my training alone. which im fine with. but to know that i could come back and 'report in' and let everyone how it went, how i felt, or what i accomplished. THATS a GREAT feeling to have. AND i think because there is such a STRONG sense of 'community' here, were able to SPUR EACH OTHER ON to bigger and better things. i know relationships come and go...especially cyber ones, but i'd LOVE to see us ALL stick together and continue on at least another month (who knows how long...) these sorts of happenings dont occur every day! something very unique, special has been 'created' here. for whatever reason we've come together at this moment in time, to encourage, support, spur each other on in our journeys, not just w tri's but perhaps in other areas of of our lives. i for one would be 'honored' to have EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU along for another leg of my journey. oh hell, BILL you made me cry. LOVE YA GHOULIES. stacieb Stacie and Bill you are both AWESOME!!! Actually everyone who has posted here this month is AWESOME!!! This was the first challenge that I did and I couldn't have gotten on a better team. It would have been easy to quit on myself this month, but after all the support here there is no way I could quit on my team! YAY. we were ANNs FIRST. you ARE a lucky girl. i can tell you, all challenge threads are great, everyone on the site is wonderful, BUT THIS GHOULIES TEAM IS EXCEPTIONAL. im so glad that we were able to SPUR YOU ON, to not give up on YOURSELF is the most important thing. we would've never let you do THAT, girl. and. that's. what its. all. about. mwah! stacieb I have to agree... I have done several challenges but this is my favorite team yet! |

Love that these get replayed on a regular basis. Far better than the rest of the junk on tv. What do you watch????? we too have been watching the reruns of Kona. Have caught several years worth. Faris al Sultan won last night. He's very cool I. LOVE. FARIS. al. SULTAN. did he have a beard in 2005????? and a white 'dorag' on his head when he ran? and did he stick his water bottle in the back of his speedos cuz he didnt have a water bottle holder on his bike?? and, and, and THIS IS THE BEST PART EVER....and harkens me back to rather lengthy conversation on the subject... in 2005 did he, did he, DUMP AN ENTIRE GLASS OF WATER INTO THE FRONT OF HIS SPEEDOS TO COOL OFF.... to cool off, to cool off well you know. to cool off his *unmetionables* cuz you know the fastest way to cool down your body temp is to cool off your...... stacieb So let me get this straight... You stick your hands down your pants to warm them up (warm your hands up) THEN You dump water on them to cool to cool them down is this correct? Good question - it's more of an "either or" scenario. If you're playing football in Minnesota and it's November, a good way to keep your hands warm is to use the natural heat emitted in that area. If you're a bearded, speedo-sporting, halter top wearing German racing through Kona, one way to keep your core temp down is to pour cold water down there. I hope this helps clear things up Nope, we need visuals!!! OH YEAH!!! Visuals... good idea! |
