Nice one Earnesto!

I hope Judgment day starts after 7PM CST, hopefully I'll be a fresh 2nd Ironman at that time (I'll be really tired to say anything good for me standing before St Peter though).

This week I feel like I hit the point where I feel hungry all of the time.  Anyone else feel this way?  I have been making smart eating choices at least, but always feel hungry.

My weight has been stable as of this morning so I guess I am doing OK

Me too. I have a bagel, doughnut, banana and orange in front of me for my pre-first lunch. Some coworkers ask me if I'm feeling okay when they see me without any food.

I am in the same boat!  I am eating every 2 to 3 hrs, not by schedule, but by hunger.  I am really that hungry.  It's crazy but I guess it works.  I have plenty in the tank to complete the workouts and weekend bricks.  Weight seems to stay in a tight range.  145 - 150 back and forth.  Weekend bricks bring it down to 142, but it's all water loss.  Taking in about 2500 - 3000 cals a day.

Killing the pantry at home and chicken. Smile

Is anyone planning an 80 miler or century tomorrow?  I am out in the Cypress 290 area and was just wondering.  I have a century on tap, but as crazy as it sounds, if I ride solo I stick to Fry RD, Logenbaugh, feeder of 290 and then throw in some loops in Bridgeland and Cypress Creek lakes subdivisions.  LOTS of loops but it works!  More of a safety thing for me when I ride solo.

I'm starving too.... I hate waking up in the middle of the night hungry :/  Trying to be smart about it though - eating lots of fruit and cheese during the day.  I've probably added an add'l 2-3 snacks a day, depending on how things are going.

I would if I was still in Cypress.  I am stuck riding the north portion of the IMTX course every weekend (90 planned tomorrow- depending on how my anniversary dinner goes with my wife tonight).  poor me

I am hungry all the time as well.  I have been going through some serious fruit/cottage cheese cravings.  I am 202 and holding steady right now, but hours are rapidly increasing for me.

Its all I can do to maintain my weight right now and still eat somewhat healthy. And, I must confess a sudden addiction to a late night large bowl of cereal before bed!

I have a long run this evening and I told the wife to just cook everything in the house while I am gone and it will be gone not soon after I get back! My food costs are going through the roof! Things they dont tell you in Triathlon 101! haha

I'm doing my long ride tomorrow on the north part of the course.  None of my usual partners are interested in a 5 hour ride so i'll be solo as well if anyone wants some company.

Appetite is definitely crazy, now. I swear when anyone comes into my office anymore, I'm eating. I'm packing so many "mini-meals" it's crazy for me.

I'm usually not a big appetite person, but the other night I made a baked potato and added an entire bag of pre-cooked chicken to it. That bag is what.. enough for a family of 3-4? It didn't stand a chance. :P

So glad that I am not alone with the eating thing (as I polish off the rest of a box of Wheat Thins...which was almost empty anyway!)

That's a much better ride that you got going.  Maybe I could join you next weekend if that's cool.  I am pressed for time tomorrow and need to cut it by noon for a get together with my wife and friends at 1:30pm.  Wheels down for me tomorrow from 6am-12.

One trick so you don't go to bed hungry:

1 cup part skim ricotta cheese, vanilla extract (just a few drops), slivered almonds and two packets of Splenda. It's a great dessert, only around 60 calories and it takes a loooooooong time to digest so it keeps the sensation of "fullness" for the whole night.

Prep time is around 90 seconds.

I'm doing a half in Puerto Rico next weekend, anybody else doing any "tune up" races? I chose this venue because conditions are very similar to what we might encounter at IM Texas, 90 degrees, humid, windy and close to sea level.

A little footage of the IMTX run course.

Warning: Do not watch this video if you get car sick and/or have a history of seizures...

I taped a little point-n-shoot/tripod combo to my road bike and road the Ironman Texas course this morning. The video starts off looking at Town Green park (transition 1) and then follows the course... to the best of my understanding. The map and written directions on www.ironmantexas.com do not align perfectly.

The elevation map is shown here (http://www.brittanilouise.com/coreyoliver/IronmanTexasRunCourse-Lap1.jpg). The starting point of the first lap is slightly different than laps 2 & 3 but 99% of those laps will be the same.

p.s. I got a flat on my front tire somewhere in the last few miles so it gets super shaky.

Another good day to fly a kite on the bike course.  I need to stop riding solo so I can draft off someone.

DAMN!!!  I got whipped by the wind today on the bike.. Only averaged 17.41 mph.   I swear the head wind was coming in every direction; I never caught a tail wind just head on and angles.

Quads are screaming today!   I need to look for another route other than Fry Rd.  It is flat, but there is nothing to break that wind.

Crazy wind here in Austin today, too.  My ride out Parmer is pretty much straight with the wind and the straight back against it.  Average speed out: 23.2.  Average speed back: 16.4.  That's with averaging 15 watts more power when going into the wind!

Yeah, I'm ready for this wind to go away. I rode from Montgomery and turned around at bays chapel rd. The cross wind was too intense up there, so I did an out and back, twice, in the cover of the forest.
