Also since people can only race Kona through the legacy program once, it means that you subtract 100 from that pool of applicants every year, unlike the regular lottery.  And I'm guessing the number of people who have completed 12 isn't very high in the first place.

My girl rode every roller coaster at Knott’s for her Bday so it looks like we will be visiting 6 flags soon. BTW anyone that is a facebook friend check out my new pics there is the most classic pic of my girl when she rode the Xcelerator, I guess the 0 to 80 mph in 2 seconds was a fun shock for her.

they shut down the pneumatic launch coaster closest to my house.  that was SO WORTH the 2 hour wait to ride.

if my future children don't like rollercoasters, can i disown them?

i also plan to disown any future children that cry at fireworks.

also, i'm so over people spoiling the olympics for me.  i wanted to WATCH the us women's soccer match last night, so again, i avoided the internets (and i was just busy at work).  i'm sitting in a meeting, and a dude gets a little text message from his olympics app, and just goes "US beat japan!" in the middle of the meeting.

wtf, dude.  way to ruin the olympics for me.  he couldn't keep that to himself?  or be like, spoiler alert so i could run out of the room???

I, too, adore roller coasters. I would ride one over and over and over and over, no breaks, or maybe eat a hot dog and get right back on. I ruvs them.

you just need to plan better.  i consider myself a local fireworks expert, know the secret parking/viewing spots, which shows are more worth it, etc.

i did once see a young couple with 3 kids at fireworks after a baseball game, and they had earmuff-style hearing protection for their kids.  this was maybe 3 years ago and i've retained this knowledge so that if i ever have kids, i remember to do this.

i don't plan on missing fireworks for some babies whining about their owie ears.  i have NO shame in doing this.

This is when you just have the kids get use to loud sounds and don't coddle them. They may cry the first time but after that they will be good.

after a certain age, sure, but you can do actual hearing damage under whatever that age is.  i'd rather not feel responsible for partial hearing loss
