How would the commute work? yes, and so K could graduate from HS without having to make a change I would live in PA during the week and come home on the weekends until the end of Aug when J and K go to college Hmmm how are you going to cope with the commute? |

(Are you going to give more than 3.2 minutes notice, unlike my coworker?) spokes - 2008-01-08 1:09 PM lastcall2003 - 2008-01-08 11:05 AM spokes - 2008-01-08 1:03 PM Good morning. Beth, take the job. It sucks its in Philly - I wouldn't live there, its a dirty eastern city that's mostly ghetto but opportunity is POUNDING ON YOUR DOOR LOL LOL opportunity doesn't knock every day does it? Not this kind. I just read your blog. I think you have the answers you need. Go for it. I have an amazing son don't I? Arent you contractually obliged to give a certain amounts notice? Depends on your employer, and whether you want to burn bridges or not. In the US, two weeks is considered courtesy for most non-management jobs, but some employers will want you to stay on longer to 'hand off' stuff if its of a highly technical nature. hmmm Ive always assumed its a 4 week minimum although I have noticed at my current job its a lot less... The other thing Ive found is that while the hand off is a great concept... finding someone in 4 weeks just doesnt happen... unless there is some massive fluke of luck! |

Unless you have a faster than light transport method handy, of course. huh? With the commute you get time to learn your new home and workout where/how you want to move... a luxury Ive never had, so its actually going to make it easier |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Nibbs XI spokes - 2008-01-08 9:24 PM I'm not even sure this move to California is anywhere near permanent... this is more just a 'time-out' for me right now. I am actually a bit disappointed how seedy and beat up a lot of Sacramento looks compared to suburbs in Texas and parts of the South which are actually a little neater and nicer (not to mention a helluva lot cheaper to live in). Oh, I went ahead and bought this book off of Amazon and sent it to Davis: http://www.amazon.com/Whales-Dolphins-Smithsonian-Handbooks-Carwardine/dp/0789489902/ref=pd_sim_b_img_1 Wonderful. He is a beautiful brilliant boy--takes after his Dad, he does--and he will love it. |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Nibbs XI spokes - 2008-01-08 10:21 PM I think being in PA during the week will be an excellent opportunity for you to focus on training after work. This is a great job op although Philly (the central city) just totally sucks as a place to live. The Philly Eagles are the only NFL team to have their own criminal court in the basement of the stadium because the fans are SO out of control during the games LOL LOL - on the Eagles, I think.............. I've actually been thinking the same thing - is it bad if I say it would be nice to be able to go workout without having to worry about making dinner? |
