wgraves7582 - 2010-04-08 9:08 AM I laugh at my desk all day long - it is quite funny.  They all look at me and ask if I will share - NO GET YOUR OWN COMEDY CLUB!

That's funny!

The people here are all just so miserable all the time. I'm not sure if they're jealous that I'm having a good time at my desk, or if they think I should be miserable, too. Either way, I don't care. The worst thing I can be is the same as them.

ceilidh - 2010-04-08 8:05 AM Ann, are we going to limit our number of mentees?

Yeah, we probably should.

I need to go take a head count later to see how many we have.

i'd say 8-10 tops.  you always end up losing a few a long the way.

6-8 is probably 'ideal'

just my two cents.
stacieb

We may be in the 6-8 range now. I think we picked up a few last night.

Seems like a pretty good crowd. I vote for the high side cause, like Stacie said, you always loose a few over time. Heck, the mentor group I had, the mentor went awol after a month! Very discouraging.

I think we could go to the higher end of the scale, especially since there is more than just one mentor. Know what I'm sayin?

true.  we will have multi-mentors, but....

as the group get larger it impacts the 'dynamic'

people are more willing/able to share w a smaller group.

its gets 'arduous' w too many people then people feel frustrated/out of the loop cuz they cant keep up with all the conversations and then they lose interest and drop out.

ive seen it happen not just here on BT but on other websites/in other online chats.

believe me.  im ALL about having a good sized group and i think we have  TON of expertise to offer folks plus were just so f'ckin funny and cute as all get out.

just something to consider.

While I don't believe we should contain the funny or cute, it was meant to be free. I don't think the entire world is ready for it yet.

We hit 10 this morning, so I closed the group.

do you guys know why someone wouldn't have the little LOG button below a post of theirs? One of the mentees doesn't have it so I didn't know how to leave an inspire for her today.

FYI - There is an AWESOME radio station out of Phoenix. I listen to it all day.

Ghoulies

I have a confession

I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut

I have on several occasions had people tell me they were going to take me to the store and get me a fresh warm donut

It has never happened

And I'm not losing sleep over it

I'm not really a fan of donuts to begin with

Unless they have chocolate and maybe some sprinkles on them

That is all

Living in the south I am supposed to like them. I prefer Dunkin Donuts if I have to have them Krulers and coffee. I'll trade sweet snacks for fried salty ones anytime.

Fried and salty is my weakness! I'm not a fan of sugary, except maybe brownies. I had 2 cakes and 2 dozen cupcakes at my house on Sunday and never touched them.

fried, not so much for me.

salty for sure.

i tend to oscillate between sweet and salty.

that's why i think CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS ARE PURE GENIUS.

Oh then I'll have to bring your our own homemade chocolate pretzel goodness when I come out!

YOU MOST DEFINATELY NEED TO FOR SURE...

i'll supply the wine.

cuz what goes better w chocolate covered pretzels than wine????

I just let out the LOUDEST laugh!!!

People stare. I have my headphones in, I blame it on the radio or a podcast usually!

i blame it on the fact that im CERTIFIABLY INSANE....and then tell people im a SHRINK by PROFESSION.

thats always good for a LAUGH.....or a blank stare....whichever one comes first.

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-08 8:11 AM So I am on a new challenge team and here is some fun we had yesterday - I died laughing over it - Ask if you need an explanation but it basically is ripping me for my food intake on long bike rides

Paul
pdbman - 2010-04-07 2:50 PM Question folks.  I'm doing a half mary next weekend and have been working on my training schedule.  I've been tapering my run/bike to give my legs a break before the race.  Should I also cut back on my swim workouts? I'm trying to reschedule the swims I missed last week and under normal conditions I could slip it in on my lunch next Friday but that would be the day before my race. Would that be OK since its not really a leg intensive workout or should I keep that day open?

ME
You going for a PR or are you just running it?

I have never "tapered" before a race but I am not the smartest person out there!

Paul
I now have this vision in my head that Bill has a big bumper sticker that says "TAPERING IS FOR WEENIES!"

Jay (Hawaii)
right next to the bumper sticker that says "I LOVE PIZZA"

ME
Hey where did the Hawaiian Comedian come from???

I died laughing at my desk over this post - thanks guys!!!!

PAUL
Hahaha, I got a kick out of that mental image too! Tongue out

ME
This is still priceless!  Thanks for the laugh guys!!!

im sooo embarassed to admit this, but....

i dont get it??

someone explain it to me....pwease.

the i love pizza part.
