wgraves7582 - 2010-04-14 6:23 AM Morning everyone - back from KC and while I was gone for the day it turns out that my father is going to be admitted to a local nursing home for some respit care due to some health concerns from his parkinsons.  He has lived with us for 4 years now.  Basically my wife was the bearer of all the news since I was gone and I have to give kudos when deserved - she did a great job handling it all.  I spoke to the doctor (a friend) last night as my only part in the process.  We are waiting to hear back from the insurance company to determine which action to take and when it will happen.

Could be today - could be next week.  Guess our God knows a lot more than I do - LOL.  I asked for clarity on the TransIowa withdrawal and this wipes the fog away pretty quickly if I do say so myself.

Shoeless - 2010-04-13 8:43 PM Here is a picture of the snowman I built with my daughters this morning. We had 6" of snow when we woke up, and it snowed until mid-afternoon. Much of it melted, and the snowman only stood until 6 p.m. Then he keeled over. This is my youngest daughter. She is 6' tall. The arms are my ski poles. The hat is the water trough we use for the sheep in the summer, and the brim is a bike wheel from our bike boneyard.
That is fabulous!

I can't eat within 2.5 hours of a really intense workout...especially seafood.

I was just thinking 'bout ya, Mel! How is Dad doing (as well as you and the rest of the fam?)
I am doing quite well...I've had some nice distractions in school and in a SO.

My dad is continuing to decline.  I will be going over tomorrow.  My mom has said that he isn't trying to communicate anymore.  She is looking into a home for him...but if he is shutting down we may be able to care for him at home.  It has been his stubbornness that is the most difficult to deal with.

brick94513 - 2010-04-14 9:58 AM The nice Fedex man came with presents for me yesterday.  I got my race wheels back from the builder and not a second too soon.  I have a race on Saturday morning.  They are nice and light by MTB standards: 1495 grams.  DT240 hubs with ceramics, star ratchet upgrade, aerolite spokes, and DT XR 400 hoops.  Oh, so nice!  Just don't tell my wife

I'm ashamed to admit that reading this is like reading something in a foreign language that I haven't quite mastered...either way, i'm happy that you're happy and I promise not to tell your wife

I ended up using today as my rest day so I shall pick up tomorrow with a tempo run...or is it a fartlek?  Heck, I can't remember...I guess i'm going to have to double check my schedule...

Either way, I gotta say how much I love my chiro. Now i'm going to have to find someone new in Wa which I know won't be an issue but does anyone have any experience with ART? I have read/heard numerous times how effective it is in treating impingement syndrome and since my shoulder is really starting to act up again, to the point of effecting everyday activities, i'm wondering if it's worth looking into!?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention our house situation...we received a counter offer which is no big suprise but it has been mentioned that the sellers are "standing firm" at a price that is about $3000 more than what we had in mind would be our top end. Of course we sent another offer so it'll be interesting to see what they come back with tomorrow.

Have a good night all and I shall see you in the morn...or afternoon for most of you!

Ooooh, nice wheels!  I'm thinking of renting a pair of Zipps for my 70.3 race this year to give them a try.  I don't think it makes any sense to spend $2,000 on wheels before actually trying them... especially when I paid $1,500 for my bike! Wink

P.S. Don't tell my wife!

rnihill - 2010-04-14 9:34 PM Got a swim in today!  Soccer practice went....  ok.  Finally have the kids fed, bathed and in bed.  Still trying to sort out the backpack and get it ready for tomorrow.  Need to change the laundry and get the garbage out.  Then on the trainer for me!  I'm ignoring the fact that it is already 9:30...  and that the bottle of wine on the counter is calling to me.  Wink

Good morning, A-team!
I managed to tumble out of bed this morning and get in a 40 min trainer ride.  The weather here is absolutely gorgeous (it will be 75 and sunny today), so I'm going for a run outside at lunchtime.  I got my taxes done with less than 24 hours to spare... WOOT!  Have a great day, team!

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-15 8:41 AM Well I need an update peeps

I am back at work today and my stress level is just out of this world right now!  I feel like I could explode and would be quite good with that at 8:30 this morning!!!!!!

Thank God I do not drink because I would be sick as a dog tomorrow - LOL

Any other words of wisdom besides finding someone and beating the crap out of them for medicinal purposes - should have used the heavy bag this morning - LOL

Hang in there, Bill!  You've got the entire A-Team in your corner... Murdoch, Face, B.A. Barrackus, and the cigar smoking guy whose name we still can't think of!  I PITY THE FOOL!!!

Yes!  For me it's just swimming too.  I don't remember being this hungry after swim practices in high school..  but that was long ago and I don't rememebr many things frm that long ago.  Smile  Yesterday was worse than other times - I just could not seem to get enough to eat.  I swear, I could have eaten a horse and still have been hungry!!
