Yeah, well, the problem is... Sal and I seem to be the only ones posting in our mentor group. I suspect the boys don't quite know what to make of me yet. They'll learn. My hubby signed up to do this one with me. He took a couple of swim lessons, but I know he was not ready to swim 400 yards. So there I am swimming and I look over for him and see that he is walking in the water and going faster than I am swimming. I yell out to him that he can't walk the swim faster than I can swim it. So, he then started walking at my speed. Fast forward to August, I ready to start in the Acworth Woman's Tri, hubby is there to support me and he over hears two woman talking about the lake Lanier race and how this woman yelled at her husband that he couldn't walk the swim faster than she was swimming it. He slunk away from them before he started laughing. Busted.D001 - 2007-12-12 11:07 PM Um. May I remind you that I don't have a bike? You can just walk the bike leg. I wish I could run the swim. Wait, on second thought, if it doesn't rain here soon, I can! LMAO thats fabulous! |

The swim portion was along the shoreline, so once you got around the bouy you could head to shore and the shallow water and walk. There were a lot of people doing that. Really rather funny. The race does not count for anything official. It is called "My First Tri" and that is exactally what it is. All first timers figuring out how this Tri thing works (and getting hooked). |
