1stTimeTri - 2008-01-08 1:40 PM Living in Wisconsin has an abundance of some good fishing.  Now I'll try something different later.

This summer was bad for fishing here in Houston, too much rain.  Hubby and I usually fish every weekend down in Galveston. I have a kayak that I love to fish from but it didn't see much action this year.

What they have in that area?  And what gear do you usually use?

We catch redfish, speckled trout, flounder, whiting, croaker.  I like to use lighter gear then hubby and I can't even tell you the name of the stuff.  Theres a rig here that it used for reds, with a metal lead and a float about 18" above the hook.  It's nice to toss in the shallows off the kayak.  I caught a red once that turned me completely around on the yak!  Drag was too tight and before I could let it off, he broke the line!  I have been "hooked" ever since!

That's a GREAT feeling (not for the fish anyways) trying to reel them in!  Well, you learned something.  I still learn something new everytime I have an opportunity to go out with my redneck brother-in-law (I can call him that).

I don't think it was Manwich - I didn't get to see the can or packet that my wife used last night, but it did have that similar taste. *lips smacking*

I won't hit that until St. Patrick's Day with a colleague from work.  And we won't forget the Guinness (he's Irish, I'm not)!
