I had a great work out today... 15.5 km - 1:34:30. Longest run that I have ever done... in time and distance. Legs are a little wobbly, but other wise I'm great.

It was a gorgeous morning -14*C to start warming to -4*C by the time I finished. The sun was out and the wind was non-existent. Couldn't have asked for a better day... well ok... it could have been warmer and I could have been on my bike. Beggar's can't be choosers. LOL

for pics go here: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/photos/photo-thumbnails.asp?albumid=8025&useralbum=52812

All those pics look the same!     Very nice run tho!!!

I know...we'll also kidnap Cat and force her to ride in Kona on the way back. LOL
Will serve her right to have to ride a 112 miles on Kona unprepared, after all... she made us come all that way.

To force me to do it someone would have to ride with me to make it happen... are you volunteering?

If you can keep up... you're welcome to ride in my wake. LOL

Maybe you didn't know this... but the last two years I have done a fund raising tour in Ontario. (www.tourforkids.com) This ride was 800km in four days... I have ridden 4 century rides in a row (that's imperial centuries). Sure they weren't races, but they are still 8-9 hours in the saddle. I love long rides.... the longer the better. Funny thing on those rides... people loved being behind me... go figure. (190cm - 98Kg makes a good wind break )

You have a point... Id have to get my bike fitness back up to suck your wheel! Then again there are worse places to be...

What do you ride?

OOOH>.. how do I answer that??? ... sooooo many possibilities. LOL

Honestly, I ride a Cannondale SR500 (2005). This is an all purpose bike that fit my budget, and needs at the time. It's a light touring bike (for commuting to work). Triple chain-ring, 12-26 rear derailleur. Shimano 105, Ultegra mix.
After months of searching, it was the only one I could find that fit me. Not many manufacturers make XL frames. It has served me well.... over the last 12,000 kms.. (that's road miles) and I'm not sure how many trainer hours.

I'm starting the search for a tri bike... but it could take a couple years 'til we can afford that.

Ive got a Trek 1200 (2005) - the best I could afford at the time... since I didnt know how to ride a bike when i bought it spending that much on a bike was very daunting!

Id LOVe a tri bike - I've toyed with the idea off and on, but Id have to start racing a LOT more! (and get much better at saving money!)

I never thought how lucky I was with fram size, i ride a 50cm std frame (not WSD) so finding something to fit is never going to be a major issue!

PS: Maybe the next question should be 'What would you like to ride?' or is that even worse than the original?

Imagine cotton candy, then squish it so it's almost a solid mass of sugar in the shape of a baby chicken.   Or marshmallows w/ extra sugar and crunchy sugar coating.  And when they get stale they have a bit of a crunch to them.   Who thinks up this diabetic coma inducing stuff anyway?

Well I quite like marshmellows (some can be too sweet) and cotton candy is just the most evil, yummy food ever invented (spoken like a girl who eats it VERY RARELY, every few years)

So... might be yummy I guess!

There are recipes to make them online... since im on my own for Easter maybe I can have a home baking project... then give them away!

Good job Tim!! Better be careful, tho.  Those Icelanders might fly out to So Cal to get you riding outside rather than on the trainer.  Hmmmm, sounds like a good plan to me.  Steffi!  Torben! Pick me up on the way!!

Well, I am always game for a good roadtrip. I am only on the trainer because I worked late tonight and I can get a better workout in the garage then out on the streets at night.

I do have a 50 miler planned for the weekend up PCH to Trestles and back. (Famous Local Surf Spot) Weather is supposed to be in the 70's with abundant sunshine
