Subject: RE: Okras Team Thread (Sept Run Challenge)Well, my horrible week of exams is over and I got a 10 mile run in this afternoon. I'd been worried about a little sore spot on my Achille's tendon lately and hoping I wouldn't have to cut back my mileage. I asked one of my instructors (who happens to be an awseome orthopedic PT ) what might be up with it. First question out of her was "have you increased your mileage lately?" well, yeah, I'm training for a marathon. Then she says "do you stretch?" ummmm...no. She gave me some stretches to work on and didn't tell me to run any less, so that was a big relief. I did my stretches as soon as my run was done, so hopefully if I stick with it I won't develop an injury.
Sorry you're still hurting, Fred. That's really frustrating too when you're not sure why it's happening.
Adamsc2...hope the kiddo is doing okay. Hopefully you can get out and fit in a few miles. Good luck! |
