aquagirl - 2008-11-10 1:23 PM Will happily trade in abs on the ability to run faster. Anybody??
No way! It took me 9 years to become a faster runner so I'll keep trying to speed up and keep the flabs. I don't mind

I am trying to be as fast as you. Maybe someday I too can have a Sub 4hr Marathon.
It took me 5 marathons and a world of injuries to get there, and even then it was so close! I had never even managed a 4:30 or 4:15 before. I may never again. Running is strange like that.

Yeah. I watched a guy run a 4:36 without training really at all. I busted my rear and barely pulled off 4:34. Running can be cruel that way.
Of course, having run the course he did a year earlier, I can say that the Denver Course is tougher than the MCM course.
Maybe next year I can break the 4hr mark.
I'd like to find a nice, flat course and a race with a small field of runners so I can try for a BQ. But it will have to wait until after the IM. One big thing at a time.

Look at the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton PA. Feild is normally around 1500-1800 people. The course is mosty downhill except a slight hill at the end around mile 25. It normally goes the same week as Chicago. It's about a 2 hours drive from you if you can avoid traffic.

The stars were lined up that day! We're still proud of ya!
