Matt237 - 2008-12-19 11:49 AM Can someone clue me in on how to put that table into my blog.  I have the plain one but not the one with the HH shark background.

I did it by right-clicking on the page with the table, selecting "view source", finding the html for the table and copying it.  Then in the goals section of the blog I hit the HTML button and pasted the table html in there.

no big plans for me this weekend.
Today is my long day for training, so I did a 48 minute endurance swim this morning, and will be doing a decent 45 minute circuit training weight routine then following that up with 1 hour 37 minutes on the bike. THen my cheat meal for the week
tomorrow is my scheduled rest day and this week i feel like my body needs it so im going to listen. Sunday a decent 50 minute run is planned with my circuit training, and possibly a short bike ride if i feel up for it.
other than that, relaxing with the wife and going to a "friends from work" holliday party.

I just PMed an updated table to you.   It took me a while to track down the portion of code that was messing things up.

Let me know if it all works.

I'm still fighting the lingering crud.  I am planning of going on a short jog in a bit.

I put chains on my car for the first time yesterday morning.  They really, really increase the road noise.

I am going out in the snow and ice again today.  What fun...especially the mile long hills.

You can put in short of long term goals.  The first line should link to the last page of this thread and the others link to the individual logs.

I need to get going, but I'll be popping in now and then.   Have a great day all!

I'm aiming to go for a long run on Sunday in the sub-freezing weather.  Long for me will be about 6 miles.  I actually kind of enjoy running in the snow and cold once I get going.

Saturday not sure yet but maybe a shorter run.  I'm getting a trainer for Christmas (which my wife doesn't know that I know about), so I'm looking forward to being able to get back on the bike.

No big holiday plans here.  I was hoping we would be able to go back to New Zealand but it didn't work out this time.  Maybe in the spring.  Have a good weekend everyone.

No big plans for weekend - need to get some last minute gifts. Just trying to do normal-ish training schedule through 24th, and then it's off to Chicago til the new year. It will be a challenge to get training in (and to avoid christmas cookies) from 24-31. Hopefully I'll get a few w/o's in at my sisters gym. Not going to fret about it too much - if anything I can hike in the snow everyday!

Well, I blew my nutrition up at lunch today.  This is the hardest week of the year, though.  As long as we can stay training or somewhat active, we can survive it though.

Have a good weekend!

Happy Friday, hammerheads.

Any big training plans for the weekend?  Any other holiday plans?

I'm planning on a 50 mile ride Saturday, and then my last long run of 12 miles on Sunday in preparation for the half marathon on Jan. 3rd.  Also got a get together with some old friends I graduated high school with on Saturday night.  Should be fun as I haven't seen a bunch of them in a while.  Some will even have fresh, brand new additions to the family in tow.

The Pool was open this morning (had to fix a leak or something) so I got a chance to swim!  It's been a couple of weeks since I got some good time in the pool.

My Tri class was canceled tonight (due to Christmas parties) So I'll get a short run in tonight after the boys go to sleep.  This weekend I'm planning a 25-40 mile bike ride (whatever I can squeeze in Sat Morning) and hope to do a long group run Sun

Visiting family in Chicago, Kiri?

I love that city, but I just don't know how much I'd like it in December!  I remember taking a visit when looking for colleges one time in March, and I thought I was going to freeze to death.

Just going outside in sub-freezing temps is too hardcore for me, Daniel.  Enjoy that run and the thawing out afterwards.

Sesh - yep heading to my sisters house for the holidays, yay! Yah Chicago can be umm unpleasant in the winter to say the least!

Quick newbie question for the wise and experienced ones!

I'm starting to plan the 2009 season. Kicking it off with a 4000m OWS fun race, and then three sprints and 1 oly from june-sept all almost exactly one month apart. When you have multiple races during the season how is training planned around that? Should I just shoot for doing oly training normally, and take a day off before/after each sprint? Or... Is there a typical track ppl take round race time?

Definitely do your Oly training, Kiri, as it sounds like it is your "A" race.  I've done pretty much the same thing the past two years.  I won't go into full taper for the sprint, but I may go low intensity or duration the two days prior.  Then, the sprint is just a really awesome practice run for your OLY.  You get the race experience, the transition practice, etc.  Plus it's a very quality day of training.

Sesh (or anyone) - would you have any links to good info on RPE-based training?

I only have a basic understanding at the moment and it would be good to learn more.  I'll search here and google it too of course but if there are any good articles you can point me at that would be great.

I've been doing that for fun and got to week 5  but then went out of town for a week and never fully got back into it - it gets pretty intense near the end.

I'll jump back on the wagon with you - I'm going to start at the end of week 4.

Sweet-I'm planning on M-W-F.  At some point I should probably do the initial test...

I got a 32.2 mile ride in today.  I saw several large deer and had two (chamois staining) close calls with bucks flying across the road looking for love and totally unaware of me!

I'm in!!

On that same note (I got this off of Zen and the art of triathlon podcast) The past 2 runs I've been doing push-runs (or run-ups..  whatever)..  Every mile you complete, you drop and do 10 push-ups.  Its fun and you get a full body workout!  You do however, look like a total dork when the neighbors drive up and you are laid out on the street!

I do my runs before school on the campus.  A loop of the upper campus is exactly a half mile.  A loop-t-loop that includes the lower campus is exactly 1 mile.  Don't ask me how I managed to stumble upon the perfect loops-luck I guess. The start/lap/finish mark is right outside the horticulture portables (where all my classes are held) and the greenhouse.  I guess my classmates have already gotten use to seeing me tear around the campus before 7 every morning...and then stroll into class incredibly red, out of breath and sweaty.  If it is over 45 degrees I am wearing my tri shorts, top, mittens and a black skull cap.  If they can handle that, they can probably get use to the idea that I would then drop down on the frosty deck and start cranking out the push-ups.

But anyone who has known me for long realizes that I do things a little differently than other people do...and just when I seem to have established a routine I will do something entirely unexpected.

Laughing   it is just perfect for my 6:30am runs in the dark by the light of the moon when it is a refreshing 45 degrees.
