I am officially jealous now!  No snow in Jackson, TN but it is 38 deg and windy.  Nonetheless, I had a good afternoon 2 mile run.  I will be on the bike tonight in the garage thinking about riding in FL.

Interesting day today.

Did a miserably slow 2400 yd swim.  This afternoon I went out for an 8 mile run.  Made it 3.6 or so and my abdominals decided I really needed to go back home.  So I did.  I'll try and tackle my long run tomorrow.  Only got in 22 miles this week running - not enough.

My illness is still dragging me down - hopefully shake it off tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing well today and gets in their training - some how.  You guys didn't know it but you motivated me this morning.  It was cold and very windy this morning.  Winds sustatined at 17 MPH and gusting over 20.  I had planned to ride the Disney 70.3 course.  I went out and it was tough thought about turning around a couple of times and cutting the ride short.  All I could think about was the stories of you guys having to go to the garage or basement and pound out your miles on a trainer.  I at least could get out and really in the end had nothing to complain about.  I pushed and got my 50 plus miles in.  I will say I hate the wind.  Why is it when you are riding you never get a tail wind on the way back the wind is always in your face at the end of the ride.  Is that Murphy's Law?

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

It can't be Murphy's Law.  Mr. Murphy is busy up in the Northeast with the snow.  :-)

You know the RULES!  Pictures or it didn't happen.  Hope you like the B12.

I pounded out 2 hours on the trainer this morning.  Hopefully we have an Indian Summer pretty soon.

Well, I took off this morning before church for as much ride as time would allow.   The bike rode like new, not like I had just dropped it Friday.  I was hauling (for me) up the hill to Ashland in the fogginess.  About the moment I turned around, I realized it was a tail wind, and was pelted with 44* hard rain and headwind for the last 11miles.

Avg 15.07 mph for just over 20.5 miles on the hybrid.  Got home within 2 minutes of my scheduled return.

Talking about going running (sort of) with my wife later.  We have Grandma here for Christmas, so we can do stuff together.

Have a good day waiting for the snow to melt.

I know in the age of info I cant get a digital picture of the bike!  I tried to take one with my blackberry and couldn't get it emailed  and we don't have a digital camera. (My wife is getting one for Christmas but doesn't know it yet)  So until I get back from Charlotte and Christmas I wont be able to show this nice gift that the wife gave.  I have taken it out two days now and really enjoyed riding it.

Good job on the ride!  We are picking up Great Grandma and take her with us to Charlotte for the holidays.

What is this trainer crap?  HTFU and get out there (it was actually sunny today)! Wink

I have to say I am terribly pleased with my run today.  Still recovering from my illness, but wanted to get in my long run of the week.  Went out and did 8 miles at 8:03/mile or so.  This was definitely not trying to push the pace, so I was thrilled to see the miles clock off that fast.  With the elevation changes (several hills of 10+% grade) I imagine the true flat pace is down in the 7:45 or so range.

Very, very pleased with that.  Ran at a dead even pace (front half was 5 seconds faster than the second).  Feeling pretty good about the 10-miler in three weeks.

But man the hills around here suck.  Prep for the Peavine Falls run, I guess (which isn't for 7 months). LOL

Oh, yeah, pics of the B12 or I join the brigade!

Screw melting, I've got a shovel!  I managed to get my run in.  Seemed like a crappy run at the time but looking over things when I got back I'm pretty happy.  Only problem is that I normally do my long runs on Saturday so I don't have a rest day prior to starting a new week.  Oh well.  Looks like everyone else had a good weekend as well.

Ha!  It deleted the "BS" part of my comment.  I have to figure out the filtering that this board does (you know, so I can flaunt it).

My wonderful GF and I ran a 5k in around 45mins and then jumped on the bikes and road 15k. Both parts of the Pasadena Triathlon in March. We just wanted to see if we could finish. I am very proud of us and especially proud of her, finishing the biking part with no previous biking experience. She is a real trooper and definitely a keeper.

Glad to hear you all had such great workouts.

Can't wait to see the bike.

If I had some winter cycling gear I'd get out more.  I get alot out of  trainer rides.  I'm able to hit a certain wattages or heart rates and keep it with out interuption.  Bottom line I just don't like cold weather.

Great run.  Running hills is a great way to build run specific strength.

What's going on with everyone's training this week.

I've got 3 swims, 2.5 hours of running, 5 hours of cycling and a hour of weights.  Luckly I don't have to travel for the Holidays.

I have to adjust a little this week due to traveling and not having my bike this weekend.  I am going to knock out two bikes before I leave Thursday.  I will run and swim on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

I have four runs planned.  I had planned to use the slow pace at work to sneak out early and get in a couple swims.  Unfortunately my gym decided to use to slow period to drain and clean the pool...

My weekly plan should yield 80 miles on the bike (if ice doesn't coat the world), an hour more of running and a total of about 5k swim.  (my shoulder may need to cut the swim short, but I'm gonna find out at least) (leaving for the first 2k swim in about 5 minutes--a benefit of working nights).

My only difficulty is that the YMCA will be on holiday hours near the end of the week, so I may have to shuffle.  Friday is the off day, so maybe I'll be OK.

Did some run/walk last night and the ankle is doing a bunch better.  I do need to make sure that I get the brace on for runs.  If I can keep the ankle from twisting, my life is much less painful.
