i WILL be approved by the board on the 14th.

then ill be able to start subbing shortly after.

i JUST signed up to do the Lifeguard Certification class at the Y.

i'll be officially certifed on the 24th.

and will be able to start lifeguarding shortly thereafter.

MAY and the months moving forward are looking AWFULLY GOOD!

I just mapped out an 18 mile bike route that does not go past the Rottweiler house. This is unfamiliar territory, and there may be other dogs, just not the 1 I know about.

I'm stopping on the way home to pick up some accessories for her. I still have no way to carry water on her yet, if it's 80 tomorrow I may need a drink.

Queen - I have declared a declaration today. That when Ghoulie Bill returns from his 30 day bike tour I shall be forever free of cube duty for the rest of my life. I shall go to work in my LBS and I shall become lifeguard certified as well. This is what I love and this is what I shall do!

Amen Sister!!! As long as the bills are paid - Bill is going to be happy. I saw an admin assistant (she didn't know I was looking) and she looked so sad. I was like WTF am I doing here. Man I have so much to offer the athletic world and I am stuck in this cube playing BT all day long. I want to live BT all day long!!!!!

i like the F'bomb dropping bike stud BILL MUCH better than the cube BILL.

one thing that im realizing is that you CAN live 'responsibily' ie pay your bills, care for your families needs AND find a life path that suits you.

you just gotta think 'creatively'....

in the past month i will have scored THREE jobs that will MORE than pay for my personal BILLS, ALL of which i LOVE, LOVE LOVE.

in fact, i just got off the phone w the Aquatics Director at the Y.

ive wanted to be a lifeguard in like FOREVER, since i was in highschool, just not something that pursued cuz it never was seen as 'practical'.....

this way i can work, and the kids can be there as needed cuz they have this uber fun place for kids to hang out....its a WIN WIN WIN WIN.

life has a way working in ways that we cant even begin to imagine once we take the time to listen to our hearts and follow where it leads.

im telling ya. im LIVING PROOF of that.

We may have to rent out the pool for a private party for all of THAT to happen!

Once I build my own gym I will hire you on then as the aquatics director!

I think it went ok.

I thought it was traveling 2 weeks a month, not thrilled about that, but they told me it was 1 week a month or less. THAT I could do.

I'm hopeful, but I'm still going to apply for the other 4 openings they have.

Glad you got off to a good start Ann! If they're telling you about the required travel in detail, that's gotta be a good sign. Good luck!

Military bases all over the world!

Some of the perks

-I am 5 classes away from finishing my degree and they would pay for that AND for me to get my Master's
-more PTO than I have now
-more paid holidays than I have now
-get an hour a day to workout AND get paid for it
-everyone has a laptop and they encourage teleworking
-with the laptop and teleworking if the weather is inclimate I can work from home instead of either a) driving in bad weather or b) having to use PTO to stay home
-in a 2 week period work 8 9 hour days 1 8 hour day have 80 hours in and a day off. A 3 day weekend every 2 weeks!
-get to see the world and I don't have to pay for it
-they know I have events scheduled and said it's no problem working around them, they would never ask me to go on a trip and miss an event

I knew 2 of the 3 people I interviewed with, and I think I was less nervous on the phone than I would have been in person. I have several other people who work there saying good things about me so I REALLY hope this works out!!!
