Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: Men's May Challenge Thread Hi ya guys! This post is to share with my guy teammates from the last couple of months 'cause I am very excited about it. I started my month off with a half marathon. My first serious half...the first I did in November and I was keeping a friend company and it was a lot of walking with some easier jogging. I managed to do this one without any run training (I had gotten in a fair bit of swimming and biking though). I devised a strategy during the first mile of the run. I did run walk intervals. I walked the first 1.5 to 2 minutes of miles 2-9, the first minute of miles 10 and 11 and then ran through the end. It worked really well. I think that I was running at about an 8:30 pace, my average pace for the half was 9:12 or so. My goal had been to finish without injuring myself and planned on taking a bit under 3 hours. My finish time was 2:00:04! Very excited. Tempted to never train in the run again...I always end up injuring myself. Probably a bad idea though. I just need to train smarter. It would help with the soreness that I have been experiencing over the last few days. |

First, we're not too far behind in the posting challenge so good work on that guys. In the official challenge, we have the ladies in goal 1 & 2 and, most importantly, overall. Let's keep good work guys! Let's keep it that way! Does everyone have their goals in? Thanks for the research Paul!!! Yes... My goals are in and I got in a big double workout today. We'll make mince meat out of those girls! (I think that's a quote from The Little Rascals). |

It looks like we may both be losing most of our stars this month. I noticed them yesterday - that is a lot - good thing they don't represent anything other than time spent posting useless info on BT - LOL I know they are not a race representation or knowledge Yeah, I would be in trouble if the stars actually meant something. I'd never have any. Bill/Paul, I thought your massive number of stars represented your blazing race speed and rugged good looks. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: Men's May Challenge Thread I don't know what's going on here. We seem to be posting as much on the women's thread as we are on ours. We are gradually catching up to them though. I guess it just shows that we really can't do without the women. It gets too lonely by ourselves. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: Men's May Challenge Thread I'm a bundle of nerves. I just had a phone call. An old coworker called and I am meeting him for an interview for a job tomorrow. Do I take a chance and go to a new job or do I stay where I am where they are consolidating our offices. They say no one will lose their jobs but they also want to get rid of the server I watch over. What if I take the new job and it doesn't work out? What if I don't and they get rid of my current job this fall? I know I shouldn't stress about things before they even offer me a job but I can't help it. I keep telling myself "If it is meant to be, it will work out." but I'm still going nuts. Oh me of little faith. So, I guess my lunchtime workout won't happen tomorrow. |

Don't put the cart in front of the horse. You're not the only one being interviewed when you meet with your former colleague. That is your chance to see if that company is the right fit for you... get a good feel for their stability, growth plans, etc. And see how your job would fit into those plans. Then if it feels right, the company is solid and the position looks like a move upward, then your decision will be an easy (and less stressful) one. Don't worry... be happy! |

I know God is there, that He knows us, listens to our prayers and He answers them. My problem is that I don't have faith in my ability to pick up on the answers. |

Things have been so up in the air and stressful lately in my current job that things that wouldn't normally be a problem are throwing me for a loop.
