Morning Ann. Morning Neal. I'm late leaving for work. Getting my sister and the teens packed up and on the road.

I can't remember the last time I worked the day before Thanksgiving. After a whopping 3 weeks, I have zero accrued vacation.

so storytime: got home from swimming last night and I was sitting in the living room eating food and texting some gfs on "girl stuff". So my Dad had asked me who I was talking to and I just kind of shrugged and said friends. So he asked me if I had a boyfriend. I just looked at him, shook my head and looked back down awkwardly. So he said something like "too busy" and then we sat there in silence. So back story: when I was in second yr undergrad I wanted to go to this party but my car wasn't working, so I was having a bit of a fit and my Dad had asked me why I wanted to go so badly if it was because I had a bf. I said no, he asked why not...I said I dont know. He asked if I was gay. I said no...he said "it would be okay if you were". I said I wasnt again. So last night I was sitting there with an overwhelming urge to say it but kept silent and being bristly. I think 4 separate people have asked me that question in the past week "do you have a bf-if not, why not"...my friend says I'm not allowed to answer with: "his name is richard, he fights dragons" ...so ya...i'm also not allowed to say "myob". So I just shrug? Im not sure if any of that made sense...just venting as per usual.

So I'm up here in Canada feeling bristly, have a meeting with all my supervisors this afternoon, clinical exam and a final tomorrow and friday. And its cold. sorry, i just want to whine, being bristly set me off. rah rah rha.

At least I suck less at swimming? I figure I might hit 2:25-27 for 200fr next weekend and low 2:40s for 200bk. Maybe...3 days is a long meet for me these days. Haha

The reason you can't use this is because someone with the name Richard would never fight dragons. He would need a name like Rowan, or Brom. You kids today.

OR

You could tell your dad you do have a bf, but you don't want to bring him home because you don't feel he wouldn't approve of all the tattoos, piercings, long hair and such, and he isn't allowed to drive anyway because of several unfortunate drunk driving incidents. And by the way could he pick you up a pregnancy test the next time he's out?

I've decided my post exam activity on fri is shopping. Hot shoes and VS! Win win win!

But Richard kind of does fight dragons...Richard Rahl in The Sword of Truth...haha...There is a guy named Rowan in my class...haha...I like Brom though...I should write a book...Brom can be the main character. I will acknowledge your help in my credits for the creation of the character named Brom.

Suggestion #2--my friends suggested similar things. Haha. I doubt my Dad would get the sarcasm or he would tell me I have a bad attitude. lol

Feel free to use Brom in your book.
In my little mind a dragon fighter is fierce. He is a manly man. I don't see anyone with the name Richard as being a manly man. Rick, yes. Richard, no.

As for your dad... you don't have to please him, despite what generations and generations have been taught. If you have a BF fine. If you don't have a BF fine. If you have a GF fine. If you plan on living the rest of your life alone and never ever being intimate with anyone and having a house full of cats, you need to call me and we will talk.

But Richard is a manly man...lol...fierce dragon fighter!

So the great Utah Blizzard of 2010 is over. it lasted all of 6 hours, and left all of 4 inches of snow at my house. Yes, I said four. 4. 1-2-3-4. We got waaaaaayyyy more snow Saturday night with a regular snowstorm. Although, you could still see while it was snowing Saturday, and that wasn't really happening last night.

It's a whopping 6 degrees F out side right now. Mmm. Toasty.  

I guess Melindy's not the only one feelin' whiny today.
