Subject: RE: JFord's Mentor Group-ClosedNAME: Jessica (and that's Kaydence in the picture) STORY: I decided to get healthy (and quit smoking) about 5 years ago, so I signed up for a triathlon. It was the only thing that scared me enough to work out. Now, 4 years later, I'm an addict like many others on here. I gradually built up my training over the years and did my first half ironman last May. This year, I'm doing the same race with hopes of qualifying for the Long Course National Championship (missed it by 1 place last year). FAMILY STATUS: Very single, with a 3 year old Weimaraner. CURRENT TRAINING: I created a 20 week HIM plan based on Fink's "Be Iron Fit" competitive plan. I'm in week 5 right now. 2010 RACES: A duathlon and HIM. After my HIM, I took some time off for school, church, and work. 2011 RACES: It's going to be a big year. A race - White Lake HIM. If I qualify, Halfmax National Championship. If I don't, Great Floridian 140.6. See log for all the others. WEIGHTLOSS: No weight loss necessary, but in need of keeping up on the strength training to avoid injury and stay hot while I'm still single. lol. WHAT WILL MAKE ME A GOOD Groupie: I LOVE this stuff! Traithlon has become a major part of my life and I spend a lot of time learning as much as I can. With 4 years behind me now, I can probably answer a lot of questions, but also am always interested in learning more myself. I think this site has an enormous wealth of information... used correctly, of course. And since none of my friends are triathletes and they get tired of hearing me talk about it, maybe I can spread it out a little on here. |
