Yeah 40K is what i'm planning for Dec.  It's somewhat more than I did in Nov. with one less week to do it in, but that's why it's called a challange, right?
I started swimming for fitness/weight loss in sept. and added tri training much more recently.  So I continue to swim for fitness while trying to develope some kind of base in bike/run.

Should I be embarrassed? Total yardage is irrelevant, right?
You guys are fish...

And, to verify, starting tomorrow swim yardage is going in the training logs on BT? Or, hiker, do you want them PM'd to you?

Sweet!  250,000 yards....that's 142 miles.  Incredible.

I swam 3600 yds last night, first time with training fins.  HOLY CRAP!  I was flying through the water.  Those things are fast.  Anyone else train with fins?

Possum's is right on! We have to log our swim in the BT logs so Renee can double check if so inclined. It would be easier for me if you PM me your results for the week so I don't have to search through all the logs.

Morey1 - don't get down on the yardage thing. I am slow as a turtle. The big thing is to get in the pool and get'er done. Every so often I start dreaming about an age group win or even placement and I add the numbers up and laugh at myself. Considering two years ago I was learning to walk again finishing is what I am about. Oh the beauty of second chances.

If you notice we have one of the bigger teams. Midwest spirit at its best!

Blizzard. Oooh. Sounds chilly. You guys don't want to be having shrinkage issues during the peak of the festive holiday season do you? Gals... your hair will turn to straw from the chlorine and dry cold air. Best to stay indoors on your trainers where it's cozy waaaaaarm.

Shrinkage isn't necessarily a bad thing when you're talking aerodynamics.

Besides, I wear a size 13 flipper so I'm not worried about shrinkage.

Shrinkage minkage! Straw hair (mine fell out years ago). YOu might as well mark me down as 100% as that will be the final tally! Bring It On!

What a glorious start to December!

The alarm sounded at 5:20, just like usual. When I opened the front door to get the paper

EVERYTHING WAS WHITE!!!!

We got about 2" of snow, and there were only 3 other people in the pool this morning.

2000 yards closer to done.

while you were all busy defending our good names here, I was in teh freakin' poll. It's Dec 1, 8:15 am, and I have already completed 3200 yds... YAH!

and, it is snowing quite hard here this am, I had to shovel to get to swim class. At 5 am. That's pure Midwestern Work Ethic.

THE BLIZZARD RULES

18 000y -- 2-3 weekly swims (45min/ea). I'd like to do 3 weekly swims, but earning my masters and two young kids makes predicting 3 weekly swim workouts (i.e., SuperCoach 2.0) tough to do. 18K yards will be a tough goal to meet, but that's the point, right?

=================================

I'm excited about our first real snow. Running in snow has been my favorite training experience yet.

5:00am Dec 1, and all white on the lakefront.  Shared the pool with the HS boys swim team today, man do they make me feel slowwww.  But got in my 4000 yds.  10% down/90% to go.

YOu guys are all making me jealous. My December swims don't start until tomorrow. TOday is my rest day for the week. I went for a run in the snow last night. It was slow but I kept my HR up and loved the extra cushion on the ground (so did my knees). Keep kicking butt - you guys are great!
