You ARE on a hardcore training schedule. The true athletes, the wise disciplinarians, know that rest/recovery is essential and the most difficult part of training to master.

Exactly. The recovery process is what makes you fitter in the long run... whether it's a recovery day, active recovery during a workout or recovering after a race... you know, like a marathon or something .

Well, after feeling good for about a week about my marathon I'm back to feeling CRAPPY about my 'performance'. Ugh. I need drugs.

A bunch of my friends ran the Kiawah marathon and Half mary this weekend. That's all anyone is talking about at work. I am thrilled for them, but the green monster inside me is so jealous. Especially for all those who PR'd. It just makes me feel like I will suck at running forever. I need drugs, too.

I don't think I suck at running, I just have high expectations...  unfortunately, you can't go out and cure what you think is a 'bad' marathon experience right away, you have to recover.

I think I suck. And I have high expectations (or desires, wishes, what have you). It's a recipe for let down and disappointment after all my stand alone running races. And I'm injured and can't work on my sucky run to make it less sucky. You will be able to make amends after your recovery. You doin' an April mary for revenge or sooner than that? I don't know what normal marathon recovery is since I'm way to chicken to try that distance yet.

Nah, I'm waiting until next fall - Cowtown Marathon October 5, 2008

There's a bunch of halfs here in the Spring and I love running that distance, plus there's the tri du season in the summer. Although I'm thinking of not even doing dus anymore. Just the run races and recreational cycling, because I'm not competitive in multisport races.

I will still do stand alone running races even though I'm not competitive. I'm just not gonna do them until I can train properly again. How else will I know if I don't suck anymore if I can't prove it in a race? I'm still hoping for a miracle.

I am actually working today...and working hard...

I'm a great multi-tasker...

Also I want to get out of here and get to the work-sponsored holiday party.  I think some of the drunk leadership team is gonna get up and do karaoke...

Happy to hear someone's working...

I actually walked into my boss' office and told him that I needed a swift kick in the a** b/c I'm not motivated to work and am getting nothing done.  He actually told me that that's okay b/c of the stress we've been under with Yth B-Ball.  Gosh, I love my job (sometimes).

Guess I should try to get antoher task done today, make it two.

This was sometime last month... AGES ago... Im surprised yuo missed it... I have NO idea which nibbins thread it would be in...

Maybe if you ask nice Beth will repost?

I admire your decision to spend time away from the net.. I wouldnt do it! I like BT!

Cat, I think you don't it so that you don't get any assignments when you're gone...

Just speaking from experience...I'm pretty sure the kilt/wig/painted toenails assignment all happened while I was AWOL...

D001 - 2007-12-10 12:39 PM Help. Me. It's only 1:35 PM. It's been 1:35 PM for about three hours now. Is the clock broken? Should I be posting this in TAN? If I hit the submit button, am I padding my post count? Why is it that despite my efforts at post count padding, BETH'S post count is ALWAYS way ahead of mine? Does this mean that Beth pads her post count better than I do? Oh look. It's still 1:35 PM....

ROTFLMAO

post padding, me, ich verstehe nicht

There are other alternatives that are less damaging on the body...Beth and Mila can fill you in on that one...

Yeah..  hehehehehe.... hang out here all day.

I am trying to get my imprest done.  I think our teachers and personal trainers might like it if they got paid sometime.  Then I think I'll go home.

Wanted to run, but not even motivated to workout.
