Good LUCK!!!!!!!!!  Is it a speed contest or a quantity contest?

If speed your post suggestions look pretty good.  If quantity I always see the hot dog guys take sips of water between dogs/and or bites, guessing it helps wash it down faster or sumthin.

I think it is a speed contest.

By the way I did the Motor City Tri this year, I would avoid it.  I'll do it again just because it is close by to my in-laws but the race organizers (3 disciplines) aren't the greatest.   There weren't any porta-potties and barely any refreshments at the end.

Thank you for that, will def keep that in mind when picking races!

Where in Indiana do you live? I'm from Berrien Springs, a stone's throw from the IN border. There is a tri over July 4 called the Firecracker in Benton Harbor and it's the same RD from Steelhead I believe. I read good things about it last summer. I think it's a sprint.

South Bend area some what near Notre Dame.  We actually moved here from Traverse City, so am from michigan but didn't get into the tri thing until we moved here.  So I am completely clueless as to when/where/what good races are.

Edit:  TOPPAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Freaky Freaks!

I missed you today!

There she goes, back into NIBBS to talk about being single and looking for hot Tri guys with Kristin and Supercat, then discuss more important things like melon holders.

Well that sounds like a good thread to me   What exactly does NIBBS stand for?

Well that sounds like a good thread to me   What exactly does NIBBS stand for?

LOL!

it actually doesn't stand for anything - it was a thread that was started for a challenge team last November

Our team name was 'They Who Shall Not be Named' - which morphed into Twisnibbens, which morphed into nibbens, which morphed into Nibbs

the thread was sort of like party central for the challenge forum and lots of folks from all the challenge teams posted there in addition to the actual team -

I started doing cliff notes and I even started a separate thread that was named the Chronicles of Nibbens (or something like that) because we were posting so fast no one could find the notes - LOL!

The thread just sort of never died and it's now it's kind of like the chat room for the challenge forum

we love fresh meat new folks, so stop on over!

Morning Mel!

Kristin - how are you feeling? ready for tomorrow?

I'm feeling a little physically run down, but mentally in a good place. I wrote my blog about it today, it's actually a little strange to be so calm the day before a race and I'm not sure why. I'm just finishing my pre-race dinner - and you'll love this, I mixed up a Gatorade Endurance with some tonic since I can't drink!!!! I've been packing up my bag for pre and post race, have to figure out the clothes I want to wear to throw away. Then I think I'll soak in the tub and watch a movie and hope I can sleep later. I'm a little worried about my body letting me down, but excited about the race.

Belated good luck! I hope you went well!

Thank you so much! If you're up for the war & peace length race report, check it out. It was a very special day for me!

You want lengthy, check out my IM Moo '06 RR.  Scoobysdad has some REALLY (serious) great RRs, too!  They're always entertaining.

Hey Freaks!!! Just finished eating dinner and opening my P90X stuff that came with the really cute UPS man today. My Hubby and I are going to start it tomorrow. I am so excited 'cause this is the first thing I have been able to wrangle him into doing, excercise wise with me. Of course being the nice wife that I am...I had to promise him to do some stuff that he wants. So besides playing trader I did get in a bike workout. did 16.28mi/1:00:02 Now it is off to try to figure out how to attach the pull up thing to the door.

Chris

what's P90X?  I should probably know, but I dont'

hehe!

I already replied to this - ooops!

Proof that we really can't keep them straight!

and now you all really wonder about the notes

I love your notes... even if sometimes i think you get material from outside of the team thread... it always makes me smile!

whooooooo me?????

ok, I'm busted!  I never did that during nibbs - I just recapped whoever posted since it was such a madhouse - the last couple of challenges I've peeked at peoples blogs if they haven't posted so that they don't feel left out of the team - since not everyone *hearts* posting as much as we do

Or cyclists... I have a thing for cyclists... sometimes Im sooo disappointed though... a guy can seem sooooo attractive to me while on a bike and sooo NOT while off it!!!

Totally! I was telling a tri guy friend of mine that guys on bikes are way deceiving. Have you ever noticed how hot they all look in their race photos when they're all bada$$ on the bike, but then you really see them and you're like - um what??? I've notice a lot of guys look all hot in their avatars here and are just regular, average guys in life. So funny.

Chris

what's P90X?  I should probably know, but I dont'

I don't know either

Ads are all over certain satellite stations.

http://www.super-fit.com/p90x.html

I didn't really know much about it either. I used to do the Cross-fit workouts but I don't have room at home for all the weights and stuff. So I was doing it at the gym with all the muscle people and it was a pain waiting for equipt and spending too much time at the gym. So a few folks here on BT mentioned P90X and I loked into to it. It is a weight training system combined with yoga, and Cardio and a nutritional program. I will be starting it on Sat. I am hoping to gain some strength and while it is not really a weight loss program I figure that mixing it up will allow me to lose the last 10-15 lbs I need to drop. So I'll keep you posted on how it is going and there are a few threads on the Strength and Weight Loss Forum on BT. Well off to eat lunch and back to work. Have a good one"Freaks"

Chris

Good work on the swim. You are a brave soul, to take on the rollers.  Much luck on the rollers, I have always wanted to do them but I am pretty klutzy and figured I'd break something. But you have a great time and no carpet rash!!

PT Freaks notes – Chapter 4

The guys missed out on a lively discussion about coffee, Melons, and Melon presses, although Travis did drop in at just the right time and managed to get a post that included TOPPAGE and Melon talk – hehe! Kristin and Beth were plotting to set up a fake discussion to torture Phil, but Travis quickly reminded us that it wouldn’t work

The only problem is Phil seems to actually read every post, so you would have to edit this whole discussion.
– LOL!

Mel (Chartierm22) – has not only gotten the hang of TOPPAGE, she’s also perfected post padding to result in the coveted spot of BOTTOMPAGE followed directly by TOPPAGE – nicely done Mel!  (I’m so proud, it brings a tear to my eye *sniff*– LOL!)She bought a pomegranate and is looking for ideas on what to do with it (oh and you got the spelling right )

Chris (Chrisrunzs26)- got BOTTOMPAGE and TOPPAGE, although I think we need a ruling on the BOTTOMPAGE since it wasn’t claimed until 2 posts after TOPPAGE – lol!  She was one determined lady! She had P90X stuff delivered by a really cute UPS guy and she was able to wrangle her husband into doing trying it by making a fair trade agreement with him

Stacie (Dimplespoo)- oh Stacie, where are you?? Helllooooo!

Magda (Eurydice79) – is here with us in spirit, she hasn’t been able to post as she’s been super busy at work and at home – she spent her weekend painting her house – fun times!  She’s amazed at the post count, but sadly due to her business is having a tough time keeping up – don’t give up!  We just need to find an easy way to get you the note   her weather has been cold and bleak

Phil (1stTimeTri)- was stopped dead in his tracks and stopped posting for an entire minute after seeing aquagirls avatar – lol!  Thank goodness Kristin stepped up and responded to the post, we wouldn’t want our visitors to think we are rude

Jenn (Jenni4) – Jenn, come out and plaaaay!

Cat (kaqphin) – has a thing for cyclists, but wonders how a guy can seem soooooooo attractive while on a bike and soooo NOT while off it!  She admits to having a bit of a crush on a cyclist she knows from work –

Beth (lastcall2003)- had a rockin’ time on election night giving foot massages to DS

Kristin (LazyMarathoner) – Finished up her RR while drinking a bottle serving of wine – it is a MUST read!  She had an election party of one but is seriously not a lame azz, well maybe she is, since she volunteers to work on her day off – doh’!

Kendra (Pipscweek) – is flying under the radar………………….

Rudy (Rudedog55) – saved the day, when he stepped up and took one for the team after realizing that we had gone and entire HOUR without a post.  After reading the post about Travis pleading the fifth, Rudy replied

I'm not pleading the fifth.....does a bear s#$t in the woods, is the sky blue, and whatever other silly question you can think of.

Andy (RevBigDog)- just missed getting his first TOPPAGE in honor of being a good citizen and encouraging folks to vote (don’t worry Andy, you’re bound to get some TOPPAGE before the month is over )

Ted (TeddieMao)- minored in melons in college – LOL!!! Talk about taking your civic duties to heart, not only did he vote in the morning, he planned on going again after work – he’s still battling a head cold and will soon be moving to the burbs.  He kindly provided the team with tips and tricks on how to win a pie eating contest. Will there be a race report after you complete the contest?

Travis (tlnewman)-  had a rough day and indulged in a Fat Tire Amber Ale, although he prefers Yeunleng.  He wisely pleaded the fifth about his feelings about Yanti’s toppage

Yanti (Triaya)- stopped by with Melon Presses and smiles, she but a killer day in the books – cycle, walking and running! For the record, Yanti has never gratuitously ogled Travis’s legs (or anyone else’s I’m sure ) – riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! LOL!

David (Wraith28k)- stopped by on Monday to say hi, he is still sporting the clown avatar :/
