D001 - 2007-12-13 3:35 PM Will you be the engine for my run? If not, well, like I said - bring a spatula. LOL

You have 6 months to practice running... you coud do it in that time if you put your mind to it!

x2!!!

Dee - I have seen how hard you work and the amount of training you put in. You really will have no problem with a sprint - I truly think you could do an Oly easily as well - but, a sprint is a great place to start!

I personally am a fan of the sprint distance for first timers, but everyone is different

Thank you for the vote of confidence. Of course, if I spent a bit less time on BT, I could probably train more. LOL

well, that could be said for more than just you - LOL

actually though, it's not necessarily about training more - it's about training smart - for the specific event

BT actually has some really nice training plans - I like to use them because it takes the guess work out of it for me

Heh, versus what I've been doing.... Get in the pool and sort it out as I go. LOL

Me too but it does depend on your sport backgroud and what races you have available. if you want to put the time into training for something longer it can be done

Well, let's start with a sprint, and see how that goes.

The HIM that I watched was a bit intimidating. They averaged 0.4% body fat, had bikes that cost more than my car, and were realllllllllllllllly fast.

Comeandgetit hasn't gone out yet.

So............

G'nite! See you tomorrow. When you're about 42 pages from here, and I'm completely confused because I have no idea what's been going on. LOL

I think Sal and Mila's group could end up giving Yanti's group a run for their money in the category of post counts!

and to think, they are spending their time chatting there and not hanging out with the nibbins {pouty face}

LMAO!

Yeah, well, the problem is... Sal and I seem to be the only ones posting in our mentor group.  I suspect the boys don't quite know what to make of me yet.  They'll learn.  I already gave them an itemized list with no number six...

I assigned number 6 to the Twisnibbins.

well, technically - there is no rule # 6, so we need to be a new rule #14 -

although I just saw that Mila is going to let us pretend! LOLOL

Yes, exactly... because deep down you all know there is no number six.

OWWWWWWWWWWWW

I may have injured myself on the new trainer this morning.

My left ankle lower leg hurts like hell now. No reason, its throbbing like its been sprained. I had no pain until after walking around at lunch, and then late this afternoon the pain set it. I don't know what this is but it HURTS. Bad. I've got ice on it to numb it but the pain better let up or I'm back at the doctor tomorrow.

Oh no no no! So sorry. Would you like a long involved kiss to make it better?

BTW, muuuuuuuuuch nicer avatar. Still has that suave (even Bond-ish) look, but not the uh-duh-grunt feel of whatsisname.

kns57 - 2007-12-12 11:33 PM Okay, my story from My First Tri at Lake Lanier last year (May). My hubby signed up to do this one with me. He took a couple of swim lessons, but I know he was not ready to swim 400 yards. So there I am swimming and I look over for him and see that he is walking in the water and going faster than I am swimming. I yell out to him that he can't walk the swim faster than I can swim it. So, he then started walking at my speed. Fast forward to August, I ready to start in the Acworth Woman's Tri, hubby is there to support me and he over hears two woman talking about the lake Lanier race and how this woman yelled at her husband that he couldn't walk the swim faster than she was swimming it. He slunk away from them before he started laughing. Busted.

In my first tri I hit a "sandbar" (mudbar?  sludgebar?) while I was swimming... like smack in the middle of the swim, belly to the mud.  I had to stand up and walk because moving around it would have taken too much time and put me off course.  Lots of people had to do it.  Oh well, the good news is I really enjoy oxygen and there was more available to me above the water than with my face in it.

Well, I've got my sinus meds and some generic anti-clog stuff that will knock me out so I can sleep. I think this might be an IT band thing, actually, from the drainer, shoes and doing too much combination. I can feel the muscle spasming. Its weird.

You and Beth need to comfort me. Run my, um, leg.
